After a three-year run as a paid contributor to the nations highest-rated cable news channel, Sarah Palin and FOX News have cut ties, according to a source close to the former Alaska governor.
Its my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by FOX, and she decided not to renew the arrangement, the source close to Palin told RCP. She remains focused on broadening her message of common-sense conservatism across the country and will be expanding her voice in the national discussion.
The source declined to say whether Palin would pursue a television contract with another news network, such as CNN.
After resigning as governor in 2009, Palin became one of FOX News marquee on-air assets, appearing frequently across its programming and often generating headlines for her memorable and characteristically provocative commentary.
In 2010, FOX News constructed a studio inside Palins Wasilla, Alaska, home where her husband Todd would sometimes act as cameraman and producer during her live television appearances.
Palins relationship with FOX appeared to take several rocky turns. In a Facebook post during the Republican convention last August, for instance, the 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee lamented that the news channel had cancelled all my scheduled interviews tonight.
A spokesperson for FOX did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Fox lost me, too.
I watch when I know Sarah is going to be on and otherwise, very rarely.
This Website has done more for me than you know.
I realized yesterday that I am officially addicted to FReeping, I felt like a bum using all of FR's bandwidth while only occasionally contributing.
Now you will have a steady stream from me.
My G-d Always Bless Free Republic!
Thank you much, onyx.
Hopefully she’ll be back, we need conservatives like her.
The Only Person I even want to see on there now is Michelle Malkin and I get all her Newsletters with the links anyway.
I get all my Sarah updates from her facebook, Conservatives4Palin, Motivation Truth or Palintwibe.
Throw off the shackles of the GOP-E and Faux News.
As a former Alaska resident myself, I can say she is a great lady and I wish her the best.
I still believe she will have a great influence on our nation in the future at the appointed time, apart from FOX news.
And I like Sarah a lot, too.
We see eye to eye on most issues:
Alan Keyes on the border issue: “Enforce The Law” Period.
Great pic! Now I know who should be Sarah’s running mate!
Allen West just signed on with PJ Media...The Blaze is hiring, as well...hmmmm. She’ll turn up somewhere...
Palin has been betrayed by Ailes and the Senior Staff at FNC more times than I am sure she wants to remember. They are in the pocket of the Bush Family Apparatus, who had chosen Mittens last time ‘round.
Believe me, enough happened surrounding the Tampa Convention that nobody knows about yet that proved to her the axis between FNC and the Bushie Establishment last summer that pretty much made up her mind for her last year.
This is a wise move for her. The GOP Establishment is, I suspect, about to get a 2 X 4 upside the head, courtesy of the Wasilla Home Depot.
I hope she isn't......They've got their fishing business, Todd's snowmobiling race in the winter, and the family she is trying to tend to.
She's had her time in the limelight and taken all the abuse that everyone, including the GOP, launched at her and took it all in.
I love Sarah Palin and the grass roots hope she brought to our party but I don't want to see her or her family subjected to any more abuse.............
Good on ya Sarah, ya did us all proud.........
that nobody knows about yet
Chris, tell me more...
And your recommendation for alternative network news is?
Please add me to your ping list. Thanks!
Thanks very much!
Good. She is better than FOX
“Ahem...gearing up for the senate seat in 2014 in Alaska folks.....ya reckon?”
Doesn’t she live in AZ now ?
I’d LOVE to see Sarah Palin in the Senate. And when the Democrats complain that she’s just ‘not qualified’, we can simply point to Sen. Al Franken. ;o)
