Was this a subtle Operation Chaos on Rush's part to give Rubio a podium and a shot at leadership? Regardless if you believe if Rubio's aim is correct, he at least is trying to move us directions that are more Conservative. If his demands are not met, he could become "The Resistance" if you will to Obama....Time for a new leader in the Senate, it is time for McConnell to go...

A penny for your thoughts folks,,..

Yes, I listened to Rubio on Rush. Politico is reporting it correctly in terms of what Rush said. Rush's main problem with Rubio is that he is too trusting of the Democrats.

Rush also said that he would be in favor of amnesty including citizenship if those receiving it couldn't vote for 25 years. This is dumb for a number of reasons. Granting amnesty will result in huge costs for this country and make our unemployment problem worse. And if such a law were to pass, it would be challenged in court and we would lose. There is no way that you can create a second class of citizenship where one couldn't vote for 25 years.

I like Rush and listen to him daily. On immigration, he needs to get better informed. Shilling for Rubio just because he is the point snake oil salesman trying to give us McCain-Kennedy again is just plain dumb.

On the 25 year thing, of course it wouldn’t be possible. He’s just making the point that this is what the dems want - the added voter base....that’s it.

My take on Rush was that he was giving Rubio a shot to make his points, but didn’t hold out any hope the border issue would be resolved (be closed, that is). Maybe he shouldn’t have given him any platform, I don’t know.

If I understand Rubio correctly, under his proposal all illegals go at the BACK of the line formed by waiting immigrants. Therefore there is no special expedient entry granted to gain permanent status aka the Green card.

This is the crap that McCain tried to push. Words have meanings. The Democrats and the mainstream media have hijacked the language surrounding the immigration issue to the point that we had Michael Chertoff, the Secretary of Homeland Security and our nation’s top immigration official at the time, testifying before Congress using the term “undocumented workers” to describe illegal aliens. John McCain and Barack Obama studiously avoided the term “amnesty” to describe their comprehensive immigration reform plans and despite the evidence, baldly declared that it was not an amnesty. Instead, they used such euphemisms as “getting to the back of the line,” “an earned path to citizenship,” and “coming out of the shadows.” The Democrats and pro-amnesty crowd know full well that the American people are against amnesty, hence the avoidance of the “A” word.

Any legislation that allows illegals to stay and work here--the object of their crime--is amnesty. It is their choice if they want to become citizens or just Legal Permanent Residents. By allowing them legal status in the US they go to the front of the line. There are over 4 million intending immigrants waiting in line overseas for their turn to enter. They have completed all the paperwork and background investigations.

FYI: As someone who has been involved officially in the permanent immigrant process, I can tell you that many if not most of the illegal aliens in this country would not qualify for an immigrant visa or even a tourist visa.

All the time the illegals are waiting, they receive no benefits at all. Not even Obamacare.

Do you have a source for such an assertion? This is all nonsense. If you are legally here permanently, how do you get healthcare under Obamacare? Continue to use the ERs for free? Most of the illegal aliens are high school dropouts and earn low salaries. They would be prime candidates for Obamacare. And many illegal aliens are receiving benefits thru their American born children, e.g., Medicaid, food stamps, etc.

The details have yet to be worked out on the Rubio/McCain/Schumer/Graham amnesty plan. They would like to sell it to you with all kinds of promises and generalities. McCain-Kennedy was over 900 pages long.

So the only “amnesty” the illegals will get under Rubio proposal is they do not get deported if they have not broken any other laws. They have already broken the illegal entry law. That is the only amnesty.

No, the lawbreakers will be allowed to stay and work here. And they are not going to be deported if they broke other laws. It depends on the law and what is a felony versus a misdemeanor. Under the 1986 amnesty and McCain-Kennedy, you could have up to three misdemeanors.

Most of these lawbreakers have broken many laws including working illegally, tax evasion, driving without a license, ID theft, lying on employment forms, using phony or other people's SSNs, etc. They have committed multiple crimes besides entering illegally--currently a misdemeanor.

So I do not see the Rubio proposal as full amnesty, it is a limited amnesty for breaking the illegal entry law.

You have obviously drunk the Kool-aid. This is an amnesty not a "limited" one. It is the same thing as the 1986 amnesty, which was called an amnesty by everyone. Just because Rubio has been chosen as the salesman for this shoddy product that McCain, Kennedy, Hagel, and Martinez tried to sell us before, doesn't mean that the new packaging should be viewed any differently. My God, Chuck Schumer is part of this Gang of 8.

Unless Obama is no longer among us, the border will not be closed off.

Agree. But I believe that the leadership of both parties is against a secure border. It was Kay Baily Hutchinson that neutered the Secure Fence Act. Too much money involved and political considerations to do it. The Mexican government has a vested interest in the colonization of America. The money sent back by their citizens living in the US is over $20 billion, more than they receive in oil revenue. And Mexico is our third largest trading partner.

So how did the Dems stop Bush’s judicial nominees? A minority can stop a nominee if they prevent cloture. Then you can’t get an up or down vote on the nominee.

I am going by what senator Rubio said on Rush today. I have not had time to do any further research.

As for illegals receiving benefits, what I heard from Rubio is that it is against the law now for them to receive benefits! But laws never stopped Obama. Why else would he file a suit against Arizona for executing federal laws? Also, federal laws are separate from local laws. States, counties, cities can make their own rules. The legislation gang of 8 is proposing has no effect on local ordinances.

I have been working on the immigration issue for six years. I have done my research and I sure as hell know more about it than Rubio.

As for illegals receiving benefits, what I heard from Rubio is that it is against the law now for them to receive benefits!.

Illegals get benefits either thru their American born children or thru fraud. It is illegal for illegal aliens to work in this country. It is illegal for them to have an SSN. It is illegal for them to be here period. Since when has the law been an impediment for lawbreakers? These "undocumented" workers don't lack for documents.

IG Report: 4,317 Non-Citizens Obtained Multiple Social Security Numbers

"A report from the Social Security Administration Inspector General (IG) found 4,317 instances where a non-citizen was able to obtain two Social Security numbers, including 542 instances that happened since 2001."

Yap, law breakers don’t care about any laws. Which is why any new laws to restrict gun ownership will not affect criminals.

I can see how illegals of US born children can get benefits. Our system was designed to encourage immigrants. Which is why children born to any casual visitor on US soil becomes automatically a citizen. That needs changing too.

I am convinced we are already screwed. We will follow path of other once proud nations which succumbed to the socialist propaganda. Free stuff and soak the rich are extremely powerful to the low information voters.

I agree that we need to end birthright citizenship, but encouraging immigration was not the reason we have it.

Don’t you dare talk down to me, Sport.

Integrity alone should have caused ANY conservative to vote against that POS, Kerry.

Now go wipe your nose, n00b.

I’m finding it easier and easier to not listen to Rush these days.

Also, on those days when I don’t turn him on, I’ve noticed that my mood is more positive.

My view—He’s stopped being an effective advocate and turned into a whiner.

Integrity?

In Washington DC?

Stop dreaming and wake up to reality.

What’s next? You also believe the ONE will defend the constitution?

The socialists are winning and it does not matter they are traitors. The low information voters don’t care. They are getting their food stamps, unemployment checks, disability checks and free medicaid.

Speaking of disability, I overheard a guy on the golf course saying he is on disability. He was showing others his leg affected by polio. Then I watched him push his golf cart around for 18 holes, TWICE! This dude plays 36 holes walking in one day and he is on permanent disability?

We are finished, toast, done.

Like I said, stop expecting integrity from politicians in DC.

There is absolutely no justification for your personal insults. It’s obvious that all you are looking for is an argument where is isn’t one, and you are simply seeking attention. Go find a dog and pet him, and quit posting your diatribe to me.

Rush and Rubio are both part of the plan, the directed history that we are all exposed to every damn day. Both are not worth a glass of warm spit.

I listened to him. He is obviously backing and filling after the reaction he received from the MSM and his audience. I have no problem with him backing off his support of Rubio's amnesty, but he still bases it on the lack of trust in the Dems' statements of securing the border.

Even if we secured the border, amnesty would be a disaster for the GOP and the nation. Moreover, legal immigration is an even bigger problem that will make the Dems the permanent majority party.

You mention a factor not spoken of i.e. the Mexican government. I tend to think/believe that government is intentionally complicit in the USA problem. I do not see Mexico being a real friend of the USA, historically or to-date. From the Bush family to some Mormon politicians there has been attempts to make the USA pay for the Mexican problems. Until the USA has a policy and means and fortitude to make the Mexican government pay for the welfare/keep of It’s citizens the USA will be continually, generation to generation, struggling with to avert a catastrophe.
