Give the administration credit for its creativity. The theatrical show President Obama and Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. are putting on in their effort to foist gun control on the public disguises a more subtle push to disarm America in the name of protecting cops. On Monday, Mr. Obama invited police chiefs from towns that have had mass shootings to the White House for a discussion on firearms and, more importantly, a photo opportunity.

Creative? IMHO, going after rifle ammo is stupid!

Test it with a dummy wrapped in armor of flattened out beer cans. If the bullet goes through it’s armor piercing.

Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders will finally have her wish granted for "safer guns and safer bullets."

"Rifles are used less often in crimes because they are bulky and hard to conceal."

That's why we need to ban hacksaw blades.

We're in the Pied Piper phase. Stalin has not yet taken off his mask. That comes later.

When they tell you
"We're coming for you with both barrels",
tell them you're ready.

One needs to learn the lessons of history.

http://www.thegunzone.com/762x39.html

I have seen THE OLYMPIC ARMS pistol that resulted in the ban of inexpensive Chinese ammo. It was all because there was a commercial pistol that could fire the ammo, even though as rifle ammo it was OK to import.

ATF has proven that they can not be trusted. This is a ban on ammo, pure and simple.

If they expand it to include defeating body armor, then some military surplus pistols like the ChiCom/Russian Tokarev can also defeat most body armor with standard military FMJ ammo.

Didn’t they pull this crap when they banned, or tried to ban Black Talons?

Either way, I haven’t seen them in a long time, other than when I visit the lake where all my guns and ammo went splishy-splashy....

IMHO, they’re going after ammunition to make it increasingly difficult for the last generation of firearms enthusiasts to pass on their enthusiasm, skills, and passion to the next generation of potential firearms enthusiasts. This is just one aspect of their overall plan to disarm us-be eliminating enthusiasm and passionate support for the sport- slowly but surely. This is why we shooters need to constantly be introducing new people to the sport wonderful sport of target shooting.

For years and years here on Free Republic I said if they can’t get your guns they will get your ammo. Everyone thought that was a dumb statement.

Well, guess what? They are coming for your ammo!

So far, in all of my predictions of what the communist movement would do has come true.

All that it takes is to know history and have common sense and an analytical mind.

When the anti-gunners found there was ammo that would go through a police vest they immediately coined the word “Cop-Killer Bullet” and used it to drive a wedge between the NRA and police groups.

Cop Killer bullets do the impossible, only in the movies.

Winchester tweaked the dreaded Black Talon a little bit and re-named it `Ranger’. You know, like Yogi the Bear’s pal, Ranger Smith at Jellystone Park?
And the perpetually offended left went away only somewhat unhappy.
With them it’s always form over substance, style over function. They’re like spoiled brats, never really happy, even lately.

Maybe we could offer to paint our evil black guns avacado, chartreuse or mauve (rainbow?)—if they’ll just STFU.

When the anti-gunners found there was ammo that would go through a police vest they immediately coined the word “Cop-Killer Bullet” and used it to drive a wedge between the NRA and police groups.

They also killed a few cops along the way. The police chiefs got wind that the Brady Bunch, et al were going to made a big deal with "Cop Killer Bullets". The chiefs pled with Brady not to do so as it was not widely known then that the police had vests. The Bradys went ahead anyway and as soon as the thugs found out, cops with head wounds started showing up.

Reading out of Ted Kennedy’s playbook. Ban any ammo that can go through any bullet proof vest. This would include any rifle ammo and some handgun ammo.
