The neat thing...because of the tax structure...we are paying more on gas taxes now, than we ever did before.

I wonder how the blowhards are feeeeeling right now after bashing bush for eight years
over his so-called cronyism and paying off his big oil buddies.
They all deserve a punch in the nose from Tony the Tiger.

Yeah remember when Pelosi made such a big deal when the average price of gas was $2.36 a gal? Now you don’t hear not one peep out of her nor of any of the other rats

Wow, what grade of gas do you use and how far do you have to drive to work?

Just for grins, I looked up my personal records on this.
2009: Spent $1,623
      Drove 12,991 miles
First fillup, Jan 11, gas cost 1.329/gal
Last fillup, Dec 26, Gas cost 2.459/gal

2012: Spent $2,193
      Drove 11,222 miles
First fillup, Jan 04, gas cost 3.009/gal
Last fillup, Dec 18, Gas cost 2.909/gal
FWIW, I lived both these years in South Carolina which has one of the lowest state tax on gasoline.

Wow. I could only wish gasoline would go, and stay, below $3/gallon. It’s around $3.65-$3.75 here.

I’d think this pales in comparison to the additional money it costs to feed a family now over the course of a year.

That is a lot of money, but then it depends also on the state you are located

Gasoline prices rose nearly 180% under Bush until they crashed during the world economic crisis, a crisis that Bush apparently did nothing to head off.

When Bush was in office the local news called it ‘The Oil Crisis” when reporting the price of gas, with kettle drums banging in the background. Now it’s called the “AAA Report” and all is smiles. *sigh*

Yeah, it went up to $4.12 in June of 2008 thanks to the rats who had both houses and after President Bush lifted the ban on the Outer Continental Shelf exploration the average price per gal went down to $1.61 per gal average. In some areas it was even lower.

So don't tell me that President Bush did nothing about it. You was obviously sleeping the entire time
