Today, Americans are spending $900 more annually on gas than they did in 2009.

My son used to drive 18 wheelers and it used to to me that the price of Diesel was so high, since it is a by product of gasoline. I do remember when Diesel was a lot lower then gasoline. Now it’s just the opposite

Thank you. I started keeping fairly detailed records when I retired in 1999. It's not hard at all and takes just a couple of minutes a day. It's sort of a hobby.

I do remember when Diesel was a lot lower then gasoline.

I remember when pearl kerosene was fifteen cents per gallon. Now it's $8.00/per gallon in 5 gallon cans.

When I wuz a kid the gas wars had regular at ~$0.18/gal.

Even when I lived in CA in the early 70’s gas was ~ $0.30/gal.

The neat thing...because of the tax structure...we are paying more on gas taxes now, than we ever did before.

Only if we're consuming more now. All states and the fed tax fuel per gallon. It's a fixed rate excise tax. That excise tax varies by state and fuel type (the fed rate is 18.4 cents/gallon for gas and 24.4 cents/gallon for diesel). Some states do add sales tax on top of this (California, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York and Virginia), but most do not. The higher the price of fuel, the lower actual percentage cost of the fuel tax, again, excepting those states that charge a sales tax on top of everything else.

I’m actually spending a lot less on gas than I did in 2009, because Obama eliminated my entire branch at the Missile Defense Agency at the end of 2011 and now I drive a lot less.

it’s on purpose. otherwise too many people would buy 50-mpg clean diesel cars and start denting into the supply meant for truckers.

Today, Americans are spending $900 more annually on gas than they did in 2009...wife spent this Saturday afternoon sympathizing with our niece who was literally sobbing about how badly her finances had deteriorated since the first of the year - now paying twice as much to drive to work for both her and her husband due to higher gas prices, and trying to adjust to the two percent cut in their takehome pay from the Payroll Tax along with hikes in their medical insurance and pension contributions - but all we get from Obama is whining and wailing because the government's funds are likely to be cut by two percent - let the politicians learn what it's like to tighten their belts like the little people do all the time......

I'm in Aiken county which is across the river from Augusta, GA. Yesterday, Friday, $3.599/gal. Today, Saturday, $3.479/gal.

2% pay roll tax increase my foot. When my and I were still working 7% percent was each taken out of our paychecks and I am sure out of yours too, when you was still working so when the pay roll tax went up the first of the year it went to were it was before. Needless to say those on Social Security did not see a increase for two years except for the medicare deduction that is taken out of our ss checks every month

The Obamas took three (3) separate jets to Cape Cod and a few hours apart

Quit griping about filling up your gas tank - Walk!

The Obamas cost US taxpayers one (1) billion ($1,000,000,000) a year

The entire British family costs UK taxpayers 258 million dollars a year

Let’s rent the Brit Royal Family and hire Romney to run the USA

“Ground” the Obamas with extreme prejudice or duct tape them to drones!
