US defence secretary nominee backs Pakistan against India
The Times of India ^ | Feb 27, 2013, 01.06 AM IST | Chidanand Rajghatta

WASHINGTON: American conservatives trying to torpedo the confirmation of Senator Chuck Hagel, President Obama's nominee for US defence secretary, have pulled out an "India card". Hagel has been accused of fingering India for its alleged disruptive role against Pakistan in Afghanistan. A shocked New Delhi, which sees Hagel as a friend, angrily denied any suggestion that India is a troublemaker in the region.

The provocative remark, in which Senator Hagel accuses New Delhi of "financing problems" for Pakistan in Afghanistan, was dredged out by a conservative publication on the eve of his confirmation hearing which his former Republican colleagues have held up largely on ideological grounds. In a 2011 speech at Oklahoma's Cameron University, Hagel says India has used Afghanistan as a second front to trouble Pakistan, according to video of the remarks obtained by Free Beacon, a conservative journal.

Free Beacon said that Hagel's remarks suggested that India has for many years sponsored terrorist activity against Pakistan in Afghanistan. But a review of the clip showed Hagel did not use the word 'terror' or 'terrorism' anywhere. Instead, he seemed to suggest India's massive financing of rebuilding — which New Delhi is glad to acknowledge — was causing difficulties for Pakistan, which by Afghanistan's own account, has been ceaseless in sponsoring terrorism in the country.

This is sick.

After Pakistan put up resistance to our initial access through Pakistan to Afghanistan shortly after 9/11 my thought process was simple. India and Pakistan are natural enemies. Let's use India to destroy the Muslims in Pakistan, and hopefully in the process, India would rid itself of their own Muslim problem.

India for years has had a Muslim terrorist problem. They could have been a great ally, and far fewer Americas would have been killed in Afghanistan while securing regional peace.

Today, India still has its problems. Pakistan is not even remotely helping America in the region, and Afghanistan is still a hellhole full of the cult of death - no closer to being tamed. The Taliban is just waiting to overrun Kabul.

Chuck Hagel is not even close to being a Republican, and in general is just an idiot.

Interesting point in history, Gandhi let the Muslims take control (he encouraged it) after India received its independence from Britain. At one time, the Brits actually had religion and knew evil when they say it. Gandhi undid that.

Obama's choice is part of his 'keep 'em off balance' agenda...the man wants to harm and disrupt...his below average choice of Kerry, Hagle, Brennan, for top jobs in his cabinet clearly defines his love of America.....NOT!

...now we know why Odungo chose Hagel. A natural buffer for the little boy king, he takes the heat while Odungo jets around the country feeding his narcissistic ego. Sitting behind a desk in the oval office doesn’t allow the little boy king the opportunity to bask in his own glory.

WOW! You seem to know the real facts behind the curtain.
Gandhi was a worse appeaser than Neville Chamberlain IMO, and was the main reason Pakistan was allowed to happen as a religion based country.

C'mon LJ, we knew the fix was in for a while now. They are just putting on a good show to make it look legit.

The communists have us by the balls and they know it.

They only have this power because NO ONE IN DC HAS ANY BALLS...

That is the entire problem.

I am on the verge of serious freakout right now. The entire pack of them can go to hell. The Rs are worse than the Dems becuase they’re supposed to be the “opposition”.

They’re just watching the curtain close and helping it along. What’s the solution? Just watch our own death as a country? Be happy we still have dinner on the table and can kvetch about things on FR?

I beg to differ.

The Liberals do. Lots of them. They are on a roll and they know it. They smell final victory. They are in your face and they are pressing hard on all fronts. Who is going to stop them? The GOP? The courts? The disorganised, punchy taxpayers?

They are acting like the Soviet Army at the gates of Berlin. Resistance has crumbled to a few outnumbered, exhausted units and men too old for military service and young boys with ancient rifles. They are massed, organized, supplied, and plan to destroy everything in front of them to prevail. Then they are going to utterly destroy any opposition, loot everything in sight, and rape the inhabitants.

Unless we get a hold of this that is how it is going to end.

Hagel is just the sort of loose cannon Obama loves - destroy America’s foreign policy and scr*w our allies, while engendering as much discord as possible.

This guy is tailor-made for the Obama administration - a loose confederacy of imbeciles out to destroy America.

And they’re succeeding marvelously well, thank you; in another four years, the United States should be a political and social train wreck with no influence whatsoever in world affairs.

And, as a bonus to Obama, we may even be at war.

And congress, of course, will fall right into line and approve the guy.

I agree with your assessment.

And that is why it is vital to their plans to disarm us. Then it will be easy to bus us to the ravines, execution fields, etc.

It’s freaking dire.

Excerpt begins:

Who Created Pakistan?

By Khushwant Singh, The Hindustan Times, Saturday, April 10, 1999

The generally accepted view is that by the 1940s the majority of Indian Muslims felt uncomfortable about their future in a state dominated by non-Muslims. They had earlier rejected the idea of a Muslim State put forward by Chaudhri Rahmat Ali as hare-brained nonsense and Allama Iqbal’s dream of an Islamic haven as utopian unreality.

But then it became apparent that the British would soon hand over the reins of government to the Indians, Muslims rejected appeals by Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Sardar Patel, Maulana Azad and other Congress leaders to stay in a united India and instead supported Jinnah and his Muslim League to opt for an independent, sovereign Muslim State, Pakistan. As the pressure mounted and savage Hindu-Muslim riots, broke out all over northern India extending from the North-West Frontier Province to East Bengal, Congress leaders except for a few notable exceptions reluctantly decided to yield to the Muslim demand. The most notable exception was Mahatma Gandhi. Nevertheless we have a new breed of Indian pseudo-historians who subscribe to the belief that Gandhi was chiefly responsible for the vivisection of India and perhaps Godse was justified in killing him.

Godse was convinced that the Mahatma was anti-Hindu and pro-Muslim. He asserted during his trial that the Mahatma was a hypocrite, his contribution to the freedom struggle was negligible and he was “the greatest supporter and advocate of Pakistan”. The Marathi drama Mee Nathuram Godse Boltoy revived the charge of Gandhi being the creator of Pakistan. Amongst propagators of Godse’s falsehood was India Today. In its issue of August 3, 1998 it wrote that “Gandhi had no right to vivisect the country”. Nirad Chaudhury described Gandhi as “the most successful humbug”. May the good Lord forgive these traducers of the most saintly man of our times.

Gandhi was a devout Hindu and worshipper of Shri Raam —not as a historical figure, son of Dashrath, King of Ayodhya, but as another name for God “Eternal, Unborn, the one without a Second,” When partition became inevitable, he distanced himself from politics and instead went on a one-man peace mission to riot-affected areas: Noakhali, Calcutta, Bihar and Delhi. He refused to attend the Independence Day celebrations. Single-handed he brought peace to riot-torn Delhi and forced the Indian Government to honour its commitment to the new-born State of Pakistan. Even leaders of Pakistan like Raja Ghazanfar Ali and Choudhary Zafarullah Khan paid him handsome tributes. Feroze Khan Noon said, “No country in the world has produced such a great man.” Only Jinnah was unable to say anything kind about him.

In his recently published book Gandhi & The Break-up of India (Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan), Rafiq Zakaria has convincingly nailed the lie that the Mahatma in any way supported the move to divide India. The truth of the matter is that the majority of Muslims in areas that eventually went to Pakistan wanted to break away from India. They had every right to do so. We wish them well. However both Indians and Pakistanis must realise that abusing the Mahatma is like spitting at the sky; those who do so only soil their own faces.

Excerpt ends.

Well now that the US has established that it is India and not Pakistan that is the troublemaker in the region I suppose Obama will be able to iron out all the differences with Pakistan , and the Afghanistan war will go smoothly from here on. India was always the main obstacle to all of this I am sure.

That is the generally accepted belief. It is pure Barbra Streisand. One article excerpt does not write real history. Gandhi was a pacifist. He did not want to resist the breakup of British India by military force. That was the reason he was eventually assassinated by a Hindu. On top of that the whole gang of Congress leaders such as Nehru were Socialists with their central planning and 5 year plans. That mentality made Indians increasingly poor. Thank the Janata party who finally defeated Congress party and began the march towards capitalism.
