Should President Obama give up golf for the duration of the “sequester”? That’s what some irritated conservative GOP lawmakers believe. They’re not mad at presidential sports per se as much as annoyed at what they consider to be Mr. Obama’s grandstanding on spending cuts mandated by sequestration. In particular, they’re peeved that the administration, with blaring trumpets, has announced that public tours of the White House have been canceled pending further notice.
So on Tuesday, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R) of Texas offered an amendment to the omnibus spending bill that the House is currently considering. None of the money authorized by this continuing resolution “may be used to transport the President to or from a golf course until public tours of the White House resume,” read Representative Gohmert’s amendment. …

The most self serving, self aggrandizing, conceited and self indulgent president in the history of the USA give up something to show the little people that he will suffer with them? Are you insane? Only common folk have to give things up, not royalty! Off with your head!
I think this jackass should have all expenses cut off, should buy his own groceries and his fat wife should cook their meals. Additionally, his mother-in-law’s nanny stipend should come out of the phony dummy’s pocket.
Bozo shouldn’t receive a salary; rather he should pay rent for living in the White Hut.
I’d rather he be on the course than in his office. Take a four-year vacation for all I care.

There is plenty the White House can give up, instead, like true dictators they close the mansion to the public. Another passive-aggressive action from obama. The Congress are the representatives of the people and we should demand this be overturned. This IS NOT Obamas house, it is our house.
If he and the first wookie gave up eating it would be better for the country.

I’m sick of the ruling elite demanding more and more money from us and giving themselves special privileges and then scorning us.
Stupid question. The answer is obviously "no".
However, what he SHOULD do is stop flying all over creation for weeks at a time to play golf. If he wants to set up a putting green on the WH lawn at his own expense, then he can play all the golf he wants!
God knows he sucks as a president, maybe he can get good at this and go on the PGA circuit after he is tossed out of office.
Me too, I normally agree with Congressman Gohmert but I believe vacations and golf outings should be encouraged for obama, his czars, cabinet and all in his administration.
I respectfully disagree.
I think he should play golf as much as he possibly can - for several reasons.
1. When he is golfing he is not actively destroying the country. With a real American in office, I would worry that goofing off was bad for the country because it was a “sin of omission.” With the non-American in office, that’s not the case. The less he works, the better off we are.
2. It is an in-your-face reminder to his supporters that he is lazy.
3. It is an in-your-face reminder to his supporters that he is one of the 1%.
4. It is an in-your-face reminder to his supporters that he is a hypocrite and doesn’t care at all about “the poor.” He only cares about his pleasures.
5. It is an in-your-face reminder to his supporters that his is a pansy who looks limp-wristed no matter what sport he attempts.
Gohmert’s heart is in the right place. A President should be attentive. A President should also show restraint, judgment, competence, etc. Without the latter ... we’re better off without the former.
Attentiveness in incompetence is not a virtue.

I think he should start playing two rounds per day.
The amendment is already dead, killed by leaderships’ hand. But it was fun the five minutes it lasted....
Let the boy play whatever course he wants just pay for the transportation and his expenses!
