Jesse Jackson Jr., wife scrambling to make ends meet (prison for both comes in June)
Sun Times ^ | 3/01/13 | MICHAEL SNEED

The Jackson file...

Ensconced in the safety of their home in Washington, D.C., former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife, former Ald. Sandi Jackson, are struggling to make ends meet before their sentencing in June. To wit: The shattered couple, who recently pleaded guilty to felonies, could lose their law licenses. They are desperately trying to pay the bills and figure out a financial plan for their two children. Although writing a memoir is on the table if Jackson Jr. can find a publisher (or publish it himself), Sneed is told their major financial support now is Triple J’s devoted brother, Yusef, a successful beer distributor and businessman. “It is Yusef who drove Jesse to Tucson when he was falling apart mentally due to the federal investigation,” said a Sneed source. “It is Yusef who has been there to calmly help his brother navigate through his emotional nightmare.” “In other words, neither have a job and no promise of earned money coming in. Everyone is trying to figure out how to make it work -- particularly if Sandi also has to serve jail time.” The McKinley mount...

Couldn’t he become a community organizer and just survive off the normal $70k a year in Chicago with that kind of work?

I’m pretty sure they could mis-appropriate a few bucks before reporting for community service. They are skilled at it. Not getting caught, not so much.

He had one of the best gravy-train jobs in the country — a US Congressman. Really. The guy could collect nearly 200,000 grand a year for doing virtually nothing. And he blew it. No sympathy from me for him or his wife.

This is a lotta BS-—the two crooked pols got plenty stashed away.

The buzz was JJJ would not leave Congress unless he got a $5 million “going-away” present.

Plus he gave (I mean we, the taxpayers, gave) the wife a bundle from Cong/earmarks falsified as charitable contributions.

Cover story. That man isn’t leaving DC without millions to come home to.

“In other words, neither have a job and no promise of earned money coming in."

In other words, JJJ & his wife are now just like the rest of their Chicago peeps.

Can’t Dad just shakedown another unsuspecting corporation? Strange...always worked before.

Going to jail can be soooo inconvenient. But the good news is that they'll be associating with a better class of people.

Take heart, Losers. Being disbarred didn’t stop Moochelle, and who knows what kind of ‘law degree’ 0bama actually has!

Absolutely. The Sun-Times conveniently forgot to mention that Je$$e Jack$son secured that beer distributorship from Anheuser-Busch through his corporate shakedown scheme. Imgaine that; the family of a “preacher” selling beer, and getting the lucrative distributorship, despite no prior experience in the business and over dozens of other, more qualified applicants. In exchange, Anheuser-Busch’s “racial” problems mysteriously disappeared.

Junior and the Mrs. will emerge from prison with new jobs at the family business, and a seven-figure annual salary Heck, I’ll even suggest a post for the convicted felon: Senior VP for Governmental Relations. Not that he’ll ever show up at the office; I imagine he’ll be telecommuting form South Beach or another comfortable location.

I do have one question: why was it necessary for Yusef to “drive” his brother to Tucson? Why not get on one of the family’s private jets, or fly first class on an airline. My guess is that Junior took a little road trip to hide some of his cash and other ill-gotten gain from the feds. Wouldn’t surprise me to find some storage units in Yusef’s name, filled with cash, between Chicago and Arizona.
