HOUSTON -- Jack Pardee, one of Bear Bryant's "Junction Boys" at Texas A&M who went on to become an All-Pro linebacker and an NFL coach, died Monday. He was 76. In November, Pardee's family announced that he had gall bladder cancer that had spread to other organs and that he had six to nine months to live. The family has established a memorial scholarship fund in Pardee's name at the University of Houston, where Pardee coached from 1987-89. "Today, we mourn the passing of a great man who dedicated his life to the game of football and was a true gentleman in every sense of the word," Houston athletic director Mack Rhoades said. "It was not a coincidence that success followed coach and his teams wherever he worked, and the University of Houston program was blessed to have him lead our football program during some of our most exciting times."

76 was too young.
IIRC, he battled cancer back in the ‘80s, while coaching at the University of Houston, and beat it. Tough man...
RIP Jack.
You know he was tough because he was one of the Junction Boys.
RIP.
I used to be an avid LA Rams fan, particularly when George Allen was the coach. Jack Pardee played on the team during those years.
R.I.P. to one of the greats! HTTR!
My Dad and I would go to the L.A. Coliseum way back when and see him play.
RIP, always seemed like an honest man.
It’s a great book, well worth reading..movie was pretty decent..
A great one. Signed cards sent through the mail for his fans. A terrific old school player, and coach, but a fine gentleman. RIP with many blessings.
Played for Allen in Washington too, he was in SB VII against the Dolphins.
I began watching football back in 1971 when I lived in Maryland, and got completely hooked on “The Over The Hill Gang”.
Jack Pardee was a great linebacker, leader, and seemed like a character guy...RIP
Any of those Junction Boys are lucky to survive that place.
Bear Bryant and his ignorant attitude of water makes you weak, would be charged with a crime today for what he did to those boys.
