Impact of Boston on gun control

I was just thinking about this a few minutes ago, and lo and behold, a thread pops up on FR about it.
You asked the right question. Where did they get their gun(s)?
A follow up question is why isn’t the media all over this? Very unusual that they wouldn’t have been all over the “gun shop” that sold them.
If the guns were “stolen” why isn’t the media all over this story about “unsecured weapons”?
Inquiring minds want to know.
I’ll bet the residents of Watertown, MA who own a gun felt a lot safer last week that the unarmed residents felt.
That's because they'd have to pay for their own ammo and practice unpaid on their own time. In Chicago they get 100 rounds a month from the city.
On the other hand, the average cop never fires his weapon during his entire career.
That would make no sense based on the reporting. If it were any rifle that could be labelled an "assault rifle" they would be shouting it from the trees. Dick Durbin was on CPSAN. He said gun control is not dead but that they are going to need another Newtown.
I have seen that before (in less detail, mercifully). I know what the police had on them. What I don’t know and haven’t heard yet was an accounting of what type of firearms the terrorists had. If anyone knows, please post a link. No corpse photos please, I just ate breakfast.
Excellent post! If law enforcement can’t hit an armed suspect with hundreds of rounds, what chance does the citizen have of hitting an armed susp with 7 rounds?
Because of the 2nd Ammendment, they've lost the gun debate. They're going to go after the gun powder instead. Soon, you'll be hearing the democrats say the powder has to be taxed and regulated "for the sake of the American people.".
You see, the bombs were made with....powder.

No powder, even LESS ammo. They can't buy it all, and they can't stop people from making their own, so they have to go further. No powder, no ammo. No ammo, no guns. See how that works?

ARs are starting to become available again. .223 and .556 is also becoming more available and cheaper online. Walmart and other retailers still sell out in minutes when they receive shipments. 9mm., what I need, is impossible to find, at a price I am willing to pay for it
The authorities and residents of Boston got really lucky in this disaster, which could have gotten much worse, since there is speculation they had decided to go out in a blaze of glory. If they had not run into the MIT police officer, these two would have been unleashed on a largely UNARMED population. If they had entered people’s homes or engaged citizens on the streets, nobody would have been able to do anything to stop them. I wonder how long they would have lasted in Dallas or OKC?

Not long I promise you. If they entered our neighborhood, they would have dozens of veterans armed to the teeth with evil black rifles to contend with.
Flour, confectionary sugar, corn syrup, gasoline, hair spray, lighter fluid, aluminum foil, barbecue charcoal, room deodorizers all now banned by NY State as potential ammunition propellants. Plastic tubing for potato guns also banned.

I find it interesting no one has mentioned the weapons too. This would be a perfect example for gun show loophole or private sales, universal background checks, assault weapon ban, etc.
Possible theories:
1 - the brothers had one pistol and a .22. Hearing the audio of the gunfight sounded like several cracks of a .22 were heard.
2 - brothers obtained additional weapons (already banned in MA) from cop they killed
3 - feds are still looking to see if these weapons are part of Fast and Furious or some of those we gave to Libyans.
“Defend our freedom from tyrants”........great thought, that’s what the 2nd amendment was for. Unfortunately, that has gone by the boards when looking at the firepower of those in power,if they ever turned on the people.
A poll should be taken of Watertown, an ultra liberal community. The question should be; during the lockdown did you ever regret not having a firearm to defend your family?
Ammunition manufacturers have been laying people off and shutting down lines because they cannot get enough components to enen keep up what they used to put out before the last election. Copper, lead, brass, primers, and powder all in short supply. Truly a messed up situation. Would be like GM trying to crank out cars with a shortage of paint or rubber and plastic.
Doesn't that just make your blood run cold ... the libs 'need' (i.e. hope/want) another mass killing to justify their gun-grabbing ..... another school killing, the younger the better, I'm sure. Hey Turban Durbin .... there are plenty of "Gun-free" zones (i.e. schools) left .... shooting galleries for TERRORISTS so maybe your Leftist and/or terrorist buddies will oblige you and you'll have another batch of grieving parents you can take advantage of and parade out in public.
I went to a bix box hunting supply store two days ago on a rare day off. Customers were only allowed to buy 100 rounds of 22 lr ammo ! One box. That’s it.
