'A man claiming to be a US war veteran who had lived in a remote Vietnamese village for 45 years has been exposed as a fraudster.
Dang Tan Ngoc, 76, said that he was Sgt John Hartley Robinson who was shot down over Laos in 1968, but a fingerprint test has exposed his lies.
After being interviewed over his past claims that he was a US soldier back in 2006, he also admitted to being a Vietnamese citizen.'

Color me shocked.
...he was looking for back pay...WHY NOT?...Odungo is desperate for good headlines
Read he is no longer able to speak English language. Perhaps they should try Russian. Viet Nam was a tropical paradise for 1960-70 era Russian “advisors”.
He’s NOT Robinson? Just Dang...
He should have signed up for Pigford, he would have had a better chance for ‘bamadollars.
Robinson’s sister, after meeting him in person, is convinced it is him. I really don’t know if he is or isn’t, but I can’t wrap my mind around the kind of person who would carry a scam to that level of evil.
Why does your link say The Sun, when it takes me to http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/4908909/has-MIA-war-vet-been-found.html .
Is http://www.thescottishsun your blog? Why do I keep getting a warning about the cookies that site is trying to give me?

This guy has run this scam repeatedly and a previous USG investigation exposed him.
But his sister looked into his eyes and just KNEW IT.
Sometimes we see what we want to see.
“Dang Tan Ngoc”
Doesn’t look Vietnamese to me.
I kind of saw this one coming.
Sounds like The Artist Formerly Known As TomInTib (TAFKATIT).
I haven’t been following the story, but I wondered if that was the case. I also wondered why Robinson’s children initially agreed to DNA testing, then backed out. Did they initially believe it too?
As usual, we have to look to the foreign press to report these kinds of stories.
“Okay, okay. I’m not Robinson. I’m Thompson.”
