Repeal of DADT
Rfreedom4u

Posted on 05/10/2013 4:56:07 AM PDT by rfreedom4u

About two years ago while at Fort Carson our company commander was required to give all the NCO's a brief on the repeal of DADT. He told us to hold all questions until he finished. Here is my memory of the questions (all asked by me of course):

Me: Did the Army take into effect the crime statistics showing that homosexuals has higher rates of domestic violence?

CO: I do not know.

Me: What about the disease statistics showing that homosexuals have higher rates of STD's?

CO: I don't know.

Me: You stated that barracks room assignments would NOT be based on a Soldier's sexual preference. Does this mean you will place homosexuals in rooms with straight Soldiers?

CO: Yes. But no male/female room assignments.

Me: So are you saying it is ok to discriminate for room assignments based on gender but not preference?

CO: No. We will not discriminate at all.

Me: If you won't discriminate then why would you not place gay male Soldiers in rooms with straight female Soldiers or gay females in rooms with straight males? To me that sounds like discrimination.

CO: SFC (name), I didn't write the policy I was just told to read this to everyone.

Me: Did whomever write this do any research or put any thought into it?

CO: I don't know.

Me: Well, then whomever wrote it is an idiot.

The politically correct version of "Specialist-In-Charge" is SPCIC.

Pronounced the same, but looked better on official correspondence...

I look at LDOs (Limited Duty Officer)differently. Fortunately, thats all we have in my MOS. I dont much like Officers, but Ive served with some really good ones along the way.

Being a retired CWO I’m partial to that breed of soldier. Used to be you got to be a WO by being a technical expert. Do not know how it is done today. I’ve been retired a LONG time. Semper Fi Gunny!

Sir, as far as the criteria for selection to WO goes, it is supposed to be exactly that. They are suposedly the “technical experts” and routinely pulled from the SNCO ranks.
Semper Fi!
