DEAD SEA, Jordan — Hoping to use economic promise as a bridge to a peace deal between Palestinians and Israel, Secretary of State John F. Kerry announced an estimated $4 billion economic development proposal for the West Bank on Sunday that he said could cut the 21 percent unemployment rate by two-thirds.

“The greatest existential threat and the greatest economic threat to both sides is the lack of peace,” Kerry said. “To not try to head these off would be tragic, and it would be irresponsible.”

International business leaders rallied by former British prime minister Tony Blair will propose new agricultural, construction and other investment to the Palestinian Authority that could increase the Palestinian gross domestic product by 50 percent over three years, Kerry said.

The State Department would not identify participating companies or provide other details about the content or timing of individual proposed investments. The money would come from the private sector, not U.S. taxpayers.

Kerry addressed a World Economic Forum meeting after speeches by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli President Shimon Peres. The gathering on the shores of the Dead Sea in Jordan was a rare direct meeting between Israeli and Palestinian leaders, although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not attend. . .

Then Kerry meant the money would come from private investors paid off, in a “crony capitalistic” way, by U.S. taxpayers and their children and their children’s children by borrowing from China and money printing.

Stimulus for Terrorists. And yes, it will come from US taxpayers.

The PLO has tons of shovel ready jobs to build bunkers and rocket factories

Plus tons of Swiss Bank accounts for the Leadership to fill with skimmed funds

Same as it ever was except that the dollar does not buy as many Klashnikovs assault rifles or tons of Semtex explosives as it used to.

Hard times indeed

The money could be better spent on repairing the bridge infrastructure in the United States, and/or to mitigate the need for a sequester, do you not agree?

You basically dump into a pit, and wait till it’s gone, and then ask for more.

Now, if they said....we need a real harbor, and some cranes to off-load, that might relate to some possible positives for the local business community. But these are never the type to think of projects that people buy into.

~~~“The greatest existential threat and the greatest economic threat to both sides is the lack of peace,” Kerry said.
I'd like to see Kerry get any of those muzzie b@$tards to say publically that they want peace with Israel.
Why would that matter ? Their “good book” says it’s OK to lie to infidels. They’ll say they want peace with a wink and a nod. Only a (non-Mohammadan) moron would believe them.
Hoping to use economic promise as a bridge to a peace deal between Palestinians and Israel,
Gee, John, I think this idea is just so different than all the other ideas of dumping boatloads of money into the hands of bigoted angry anti progress, anti semitic people that have no interest in fixing their little piece of the world and are far more interested in destroying the Jews little piece of the world.
What could go wrong?
Before you over-react, please realize that EACH Arab/Moslem in the “disputed territories” receives thousands of US dollars a year in “aid.” Few people have been to these places, but when I went, they were jam-packed with Mercedes, BMW, and other luxury cars. I might add that the air smells of hashish and you WILL get a contact high on just about any street. (ahem.) Is it any wonder USAID workers adore this post? Between the wealth, drugs, and UN-funded underage prostitution, it’s about as good as it gets. So, brothers and sisters, do all you can to reverse Israeli oppression. The “Palestinans” are counting on you! Allahu Akbar!
This is what you get when you elect a Muslim as President who appoints a traitor as Secretary of State.
Giving the so-called Palestinians 4 Billion dollars would be insane for any administration other than this one.
With this one it is par for the course.
Obama said he was spending all of his time working for jobs, he just didn’t say they were Muslim jobs.
