New DOE chief insists climate change 'not debatable'
Sacramento Bee ^ | May. 28, 2013 | RUSSELL MCLENDON

Physicist Ernest Moniz was sworn in last week as U.S. Energy secretary, and wasted little time laying out his priorities. Along with a major speech on energy efficiency, as well as pronouncements about nuclear power and natural gas, he issued a blunt warning to any opponents or obfuscators of climate science: The jig is up.

"Let me make it very clear that there is no ambiguity in terms of the scientific basis calling for a prudent response on climate change," he told a crowd of Energy Department employees May 21 following his swearing-in ceremony at DOE headquarters.

"I am not interested in debating what is not debatable," he added, echoing a recent survey published in the journal Environmental Research Letters ( http://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/climate-weather/blogs/study-97-of-scientists-agree-on-climate-change ) that found 97 percent of climate scientists agree about manmade global warming. "There is plenty to debate as we try to move forward on our climate agenda."

Moniz called clean energy and climate change his top policy priorities, citing them as "the real driver of my coming back" to the DOE, where he served as undersecretary in the 1990s. "We want to build on what was done by Secretary (Steven) Chu, who really changed the face of energy technology innovation at the Department of Energy," he said.

Worked for Hazel O'Leary? The completely unqualified secretary of DOE that assisted Bill, Hillary and in the transfer of all of our nuclear weapons secrets to the chicoms.

The damage they did won't be truly appreciated until the first nuke hits LA.

After listening to this idiot speak I would suggest a frontal lobotomy as well.

He does, however, fit nicely into Obama’s regime of scumbags that will work hard and forcefully to complete America’s transformation into a banana republic.

Now if we only had some bananas.

This new appointee is clearly a mental midget posing as a learned scholar.

Indeed.

There are many of them.

“How can someone who appears deranged and utters gobbledygook be considered a ‘smart guy’?”
Don’t you get it? Anyone who pays their cash and sits through class is suddenly intelligent.
Some of the dumbest people I have ever meet have credentials, lots and lots of alphabet letters they write after their names. Some are so stupid, they would not know how to pour piss from a boot with the heel marked “UP”.
The favorite quote from college students? A “C” equals a degree!

... found 97 percent of climate scientists agree about manmade global warming.

This is not what the "study" found. It found that 97 percent of papers published agreed with the hypothesis of Global Warming. This high percentage was accomplished by the warmists having control of the journals, and not allowing alternate hypotheses to be presented. (See the Climategate e-mails)

In related but unreported news, it has now been 2778 days since the last major (Category 3 or greater) hurricane has made landfall in the United States. This shatters the old record for calmness of 2231 days, set 19 Oct 1906. This record calm period is, of course, caused by Global Warming, as would any increase in hurricane activity.

Nice to see the Anti-Energy Department is being run by another pinhead.

Ronald Reagan’s first initiative was to deregulate energy because he understood it’s the backbone of the economy. Obama intends to fundamentally transform America into a 3rd world cesspool.

This man does not know that 1)the sun is a ball of fire, 2) the earth is a rock, 3) in size comparison the earth is a tiny speck compared to the size of the sun, 4) that makes inhabits of the earth less-than-specks, 5) the ENORMOUS sun controls our climate cycles, and 6) less-than-specks are incapable of controlling the sun?

Obama needs to personally pay this idiot’s salary. Taxpayers should not have to finance absolute fools.

I always find it interesting when a so-called “scientist” finds something that is not debatable.

These are the same types that believe science is based on consensus... Raise you're hands - yes, the ayes have it.

If the majority of 'scientists' in the middle ages believed the sun moved around the earth - rather than the reverse - it would be 'settled' science by this standard? Copernicus could be banned from the University and refused grants?

The take away point from this is that there is no limit to the dishonesty of those who promote scams to grow Big Government, even to the point of making obvious liars and ignoramuses of themselves.

Worse then that. They only read abstracts to determine if the paper was pro, neutral or anti AGW. Some of the actual authors of the studies they reviewed are stating their paper was miss classified by the team. So not only are the AGW acolytes idiots, they are also criminals.
