Edward Snowden, the former US intelligence contractor who leaked classified documents revealing US internet and phone surveillance, has asked Ecuador for asylum.

The request was confirmed by Ecuador's foreign minister on Twitter.

“Katrina had private contractors taking firearms from LA citizens.”

Really? I hadn’t heard that. What private contractors participated in that? I might be up on a repeated criminal mischief charge had I been on the receiving end of those contractors BS.

Were they somehow deputized? If so, by whom?

According to all the “experts” in the msm and government, this stupid high school drop out can’t outsmart the CIA, FBI, DOJ, NSA, DHS, etc etc....right???

They're lazy government employees, so maybe that will answer your question.

The US is currently run by a Socialist clown in the same vein as Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.

If he goes to any of our enemies (and Ecuador *is* our enemy, although not an important one) then he becomes a filthy Communist scumbag to me.If he comes here I might be willing to put him back into my “could be a hero, could be a scumbag” column.

I think he’d be safer in Ecuador’s London embassy.

I agree. Besides, doing the whistleblower thing the ‘government’ way doesn’t appear to work out all that well and I’m thinking that there are cases that we will never know about because the blowers are dead.

You know this how? Reported in our free, liberty loving, constitution revering press? Oh, ok it must be true then.

I don’t think Assange has orchestrated this whole thing. He is sitting in an Embassy while Snowden is on the move in a complicated maneuver.

Assange may be the front man for this Move Snowden operation but he is not a principal.

Leak after Leak after Leak and I doubt the leaks are done for Obama.

Before we knew the name Snowden many felt that it could be the CIA behind the many leaks as payback.

It still could be.....

I doubt we ever see the really good stuff. He is probably using it as leverage to keep himself alive.

.
.

One of Obama’s brothers has lived in China for many years -

Valerie Jarrett - the invisible advisor to “Flexible Hoser” Obama - was born in Iran -

- and you are worried about the Russkies and Chi-Coms being a huge threat to Americans now as Obama pours weapons into the bloody hands Al Qaeda in Syria?

I thought that he said he didn’t care what happened to him?

Oh, I don't think he gave up his desire to stay alive.

And he doesn't matter in this anyway. It's what he told us that matters. Our government is collecting our personal data -- this comment on this post, for example. I'm glad he told us.

Given the information I have of him now, I wish him well.

I wonder why he chose to become public as he could have remained anonymous like so many others. I ask that even after seeing his past profile (and emails) in the UK Daily Telegraph where he displays the characteristics of self-aggrandizment/ narcissism.

This kid is going to be excoriated by the press. By the time it is all over the sheeple will have forgotten that he revealed just how much NSA is spying on innocent people. It will only be remembered that he was a misguided traitor.

So sad.

Surely our end is near.

Because he wouldn’t be able to win or prove anything in court. He’d be assassinated first.

What makes you so certain Obama wouldn’t have a commercial airplane shot down in another country’s sovereign airspace?

The information he gave the Chinese and Russians was not about spying on Americans, but about spying on them, and real damage was done.

“Do you have a link?”

a link for what, misinformation? Are you really going to believe a news source today. OMG he sold out the US to the Ruskies (AP).

PA Engineer, I could send you hundreds of links stating clearly a racist white guy stalked a scrawny, scared, skittle eating preteen and shot the kid in cold blood. Credible news too.

And this is not directed at you PA, just a general statement. All the clowns here who harp on “leak the info through proper channels and work it thru the system”.....meditate on George Zimmerman and tell me about honest legal means under this regime.

All will obey; the military, MSM, DOJ, your local law, etc. Quiet war going on. pick a side folks.

I trust the men and women in the cockpits of our fighter aircraft that would adjudge it to be an illegal, unwarranted and unconstitutional order from the Commander, and in adherence to both our US Constitution which supercedes, and standard international laws and protocols, would refuse the order and return to base to face the consequences. I do believe there are still those in our US military who put the US Constitution over and above Obongo and his stupid orders and would never accept an order to shoot down a fully loaded civilian commercial airliner in international airspace. Elements of the US military might also be in support of this. We would probably have a split in our government if it came to that and an attempted or successful coup d’etat as such a command being the last straw.
