ENEMIES OF THE HUMAN RACE: "HERE BE DRAGONS"
Original Content | 6/27/2013 | by Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 06/27/2013 4:20:30 PM PDT by Lazamataz

In the maps of old, when an area was unexplored and presumed dangerous, a mapmaker might pen the phrase "Here Be Dragons". This warned the explorer that possessed the map that the area had not been tamed, or often, even explored, and that there were uncharted dangers in that area.

The Supreme Court of the United States has struck the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) down. While individuals may have feelings one way or another about this decision, what should trouble everyone on both sides is the report that the majority of the Court has called the minority "enemies of the human race."

As Anthony Scalia wrote, "But to defend traditional marriage is not to condemn, demean, or humiliate those who would prefer other arrangements, any more than to defend the Constitution of the United States is to condemn, demean, or humiliate other constitutions. To hurl such accusations so casually demeans this institution.... It is one thing for a society to elect change; it is another for a court of law to impose change by adjudging those who oppose it hostes humani generis, enemies of the human race."

This is the most henious, troubling verbiage we have ever seen emenate from the Supreme Court. It smacks of dehumanization of the opposition. When any tyranny wants to eliminate or exterminate the opposition, it must start by dehumanizing them. So if a group of people who hold a given ideology are "enemies of the human race", then they clearly -- in the eyes of the people who so declare -- are not human. An enemy of the human race cannot BE human.

When the dehumanization of your opposition has penetrated your soul, you become capable of any act of violence, any act of oppression. History is riddled with examples of this sort of speech. What invariably follows are pograms and mass-executions, tortures and oppressions, and denials of basic liberties. That our very highest Court has engaged in this sort of verbal assault should make everyone -- regardless of their political persuasion -- quite alarmed.

We do not want to travel into this uncharted area. America has had its' flirtations with depredation of an entire race, nationality, or ideology... but never have we engaged in wholesale slaughter, and we have great regrets for the times we have oppressed an entire class of people. We should not want to embark on another oppression.

We are a divided nation, this much is certain. However, for either side to start speaking of the other as "enemies of the human race" starts us down a path to tyrannical terror and bloodshed of a Biblical scale. I recommend our side, conservatives, not engage in this sort of behavior, and I would ask that our opposition do the same.

Otherwise, as our forebearers once wrote: "Here Be Dragons".

We have seen a great deal of dragons as of late.
One dare not speak ill of the gay agenda that Obama is now touting even thou he himself was against gay marriage 1.6 months ago.
One dare not speak ill of voter ID even as Obama is in Africa spending our money bragging that he will institute voter ID in Africa.
One dare not speak of Trayvon Martins racism and thug lifestyle even as they try George Zimmermann as a racist and thug.
One dare not point to the king of surveillance even as he persecutes those who only differ with him while he spys on and persecutes them.

Oh, “there be dragons here”

Speaking of dunces and dragons.
Lt Gov David Dewhurst did us no favors the other night of Tx SB5.

Dewhurst as Lt Go controls the Senate and yet he allowed Sen Wendy Davis to filibuster and he watched as she aligned protesters on social media, yet he had no contingency plan.

The following day, Obama and all the National libs were praising Wendy Davis.
This morning she is elevated to Hero of the all that is right and good by the MSM sychophants.

BY next week the National news will be watching mean ol Tx beat up this fine woman, and it was all enabled by that Dewhurst moron.
Shewent from Boob liberal in Ft Worth to National spotlight overnight because Dewhurst is a duplicitous dolt.

After the national exposure next week, she will be on a trajectory to DC.

There is a reason we fired Dewhurst.
There are indeed dragons here.

So very true. Thank you for your insights, dear Laz!

Scalia’s quote entails “I am sure these accusations are quite untrue. To be sure (as the majority points out), the legislation is called the Defense of Marriage Act. But to defend traditional marriage is not to condemn, demean, or humiliate those who would prefer other arrangements, any more than to defend the Constitution of the United States is to condemn, demean, or humiliate other constitutions. To hurl such accusations so casually demeans this institution. In the majority’s judgment, any resistance to its holding is beyond the pale of reasoned disagreement. To question its high-handed invalidation of a presumptively valid statute is to act (the majority is sure) with the purpose to “disparage,” “injure,” “degrade,” “demean,” and “humiliate” our fellow human beings, our fellow citizens, who are homosexual. All that, simply for supporting an Act that did no more than codify an aspect of marriage that had been unquestioned in our society for most of its existence—indeed, had been unquestioned in virtually all societies for virtually all of human history. It is one thing for a society to elect change; it is another for a court of law to impose change by adjudging those who oppose it hostes humani generis, enemies of the human race.”

There will be a new definition of what it means to be “Human”. That MUST also include what that person believes.

Freedom for them, is freedom FROM US.’

No doubt about it!

Great read...thanks.

I should start buying lottery tickets, too.

I’ll have to drive across the bridge to Louisiana to buy tickets. Maybe that would be lucky, ya think?

Two places to buy tickets: liquor store and a tittie bar...LOL.
