Day 17 (Week #4) Zimmerman Trial – Witness Discussion Thread
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | July 2, 2013 | Sundance

Today, July 2nd, is DAY #17 (of 4th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.

Today Detective Chris Serino will be back on the stand. [Yesterday ended] on the stand with Chris Serino, who was the lead investigator for the Sanford Police Department on the Trayyvon Martin shooting.

Defense counsel Mark O’Mara led cross-examination with his usual consummate skill, obtaining responses from this witness–remember, the State’s witness–that all but completely guts the State’s charge in this case.

Among the key revelations so far: Zimmerman was always completely cooperative, open, and straightforward with all the police investigators over many weeks of multiple interviews, both in person at the police station and phone. The sense given is that Zimmerman demonstrated endless patience. (continue reading summary)

I have to say that over the years here, I’ve been shocked by some people’s inability to comprehend what some ppl post, by ppl jumping to conclusions, by ppl looking for an argument about anything, by ppl looking for something to comment on to make themselves feel like they are worthwhile, by ppl looking for anything to ridicule to make themselves feel like they are smart, by ppl hurting so many others feelings by overreacting and not understanding and by many other shocking responses that just made me embarrassed they consider themselves Conservatives. The unwelcoming attitude by some, when others don’t think the exact same way as they do without even trying to understand is a sign of immaturity and outright rudeness. Try to be a little more respectful and understanding people... Try to act like mature adults....

This whole thing upsets me. You really had to search high and wide to find out the truth on this case. Had the interview of Z been released earlier...photos of him bandaged etc. There would be no case.

The defense should stop this charade now. Ask for the judge to drop the case, or send it to jury. Don’t bring in any witnesses unless it’s to map out for the jury what happened.

If the Anthony lady, OJ and others go free, this this man should too.

We know who the hijackers were, I suggest we all simply ignore them and not post to them. IF a misstatement of fact occurs, I suggest that the response and correction should be a general post, not directed to the offenders in question.

They are going to go back to Serino’s testimony from yesterday as the prosecution tries to limit the scope of what the defense can ask.

RE: Serino’s opinion that Z was telling the truth:

In the abstract, I can understand why a witness’ opinion might be off limits in seeking to establish fact — hence an objection by the prosecution.

However, Serino’s JOB in interrogating Z was to get at the truth, by any means necessary. Therefore, since that what exactly what he was SEEKING TO DO, and since he’s a professional (expert?) PAID to do just that, why should his CONCLUSION not be admissable?

They had the FBI audio expert on the stand. You have to spend a lot of time with wet grass to know what it sounds like.

Judges told the jurors to disregard the fact that Serino believed GZ was truthful. Mark that on for appeal if there is a conviction.

LOL< I told my wife something similar last night. I said what the defense should do is stand up and say, "Your honor, as the prosecution has so persuasively presented our case for us we see no need to call any witnesses. The Defense rests."

She is all in for the prosecution.

And it's so blatant...I hope the jury sees this!

Oh she is definitely “in bed with/in the tank for” the prosecution. That has been clearly established. And I’m sure she will be well-rewarded for her loyalty to the rabid/vapid left. In this case, justice isn’t just blind, it’s deaf, dumb and retarded.

Feel free to lift my remarks wherever you may find them. I posted some in the TL forum this morning. It’s impossible for me to post a complete set of remarks at any one place, and I’ve slacked off, reserving remarks for events that I find highly significant.

Wait. I’m confused. I thought that this ruling was going to be decided this afternoon and the judge went ahead and instructed to jury to disregard. This is a horrible ruling, so if he said he found him to be lying that would be disregarded? Lol
