The FBI and Seattle authorities were investigating a Nevada man who was arrested after he was spotted on the University of Washington campus in a stolen truck carrying multiple explosive devices, stolen firearms and body armor, police said Thursday.

The man was arrested a few blocks away after a police pursuit near Seattle Children's Hospital late Wednesday, said John Vinson, chief of the University of Washington police. He gave no further details of the pursuit, but he described the arrest as "high-risk."

Justin Miles Jasper was arrested early Thursday and was being held without bail in the King County jail on suspicion of possessing an incendiary device. Jail records gave no age or hometown for Jasper, but Vinson said the suspect was 21 years old and from Nevada.

Vinson said investigators "have no idea what his intentions are."

The man was arrested at an address that is a few hundred yards from Seattle Children's Hospital, police said. Inside the truck, investigators found a stolen rifle with a scope attachment, a stolen shotgun, body armor and multiple incendiary devices, which police described as "very well made" Molotov cocktails.

Asked how many devices were in the truck, Vinson said, "Multiple ... (but) less than 10."

SEATTLE -

SNIPPET: “Jasper previously lived in Las Vegas, where records show he had no criminal history.

He does appear to leave a digital footprint which includes a blog with anti-government sentiments and a video posted a few days ago with no sound, only him smiling at a desk burning a $5 bill.”

Good links posted in the last several posts.

What is interesting is a cause Justin Miles Jasper champions is the revolution or at least protesters in Brazil.

But those protests are actually relatively recent, came to the fore in the past 2-3 weeks, from June 15th or later which coincided with the Soccer Confederations Cup in Brazil.

But yet, Jasper was at the home “alone”(?) of Henderson the trucker for about 11 days. Was he reading about this on the web? Or could it have been in his mind prior and that deals with the Rainforest(?)

And then, Syria. I would be led to believe if Jasper speaks about the revolution there, he most likely would be siding with the Rebels. Some strange notions.

Odd to hit it off with a trucker but we don’t know exactly how. As a hitchhiker? And then the Trucker, Henderson, allowing a stranger to stay at his home with his guns as well? Truck and camper?

And from the Seattle Times:

“Jasper had a long list of gripes about topics ranging from the chemical industry to genetically altered foods to voting rights, Henderson said. “

I even have friends who talk about “gmo” foods. Still, all this is rather different.

Adding this in, the video of this Justin Miles Jasper, what’s the deal with the black stripe on his chin? Any significance? I wonder.

(Can’t vouch for this site, hope it’s okay but it has a good working version of the video where he burns the $5 bill)

Guilty Plea from Nevada Man Arrested in Seattle with Stolen Truck, Weapons, and Homemade Explosives
Truck and Weapons Reported Stolen by Butte, Montana Man

U.S. Attorney’s Office
November 26, 2013

Western District of Washington

A 22-year-old man who was arrested in July 2013 by University of Washington Police in a stolen truck with stolen firearms, body armor, and gasoline incendiary devices pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in Seattle, announced U.S. Attorney Jenny A. Durkan. JUSTIN MILES JASPER pleaded guilty to transportation of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of destructive devices. He is scheduled for sentencing by U.S. District Judge Ricardo S. Martinez on February 20, 2013.

JASPER was arrested on July 3, 2013 near the UW campus in Seattle. He was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 pick-up truck with Montana plates. The truck had been reported stolen by the owner in Butte, Montana. Inside the truck police found a Stevens Model 311A double-barrel 12-gauge shotgun with no serial number, and a Mauser Model 1895 bolt-action rifle. Both guns had been stolen from the same owner as the truck. According to the plea agreement, the truck also contained six destructive devices commonly referred to as Molotov cocktails.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, both the prosecution and defense will recommend a sentence of three years in prison and three years of supervised release. Both sides will recommend that Judge Martinez require mental health counseling while JASPER is on supervised release and will recommend the Bureau of Prisons place JASPER at a facility with mental health treatment while he is incarcerated.

The case is being investigated by the FBI, the UW Police Department, and the Seattle Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Todd Greenberg.

This is the first time I’ve waited five months for a laugh.

It was worth the wait.
