Pentagon does about-face on key Benghazi witness, makes Marine colonel available to talk

Col. George Bristol was in charge of Special Operations Forces in Northern Africa on the night of the Benghazi, Libya terror attack The Dept. of Defense had refused to tell Congress where to find him, claiming that he was retired and entitled to protection under privacy laws After pressure from Sen. Lindsey Graham, the Pentagon has changed its mind - now acknowledging that Bristol is not yet retired Questions remain about why commandos were not sent to Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012, even though a team was standing by to board a plane

The U.S. Department of Defense has agreed to make available to Congress a Marine Corps colonel who was in command of U.S. Special Forces in Northern Africa on the night armed terrorists staged a military-style assault on an American diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya. A series of requests for Marine Col. George Bristol's testimony from Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, both Republicans, had fallen on deaf ears until Friday. The Pentagon had claimed that since Bristol had retired, it 'cannot compel' him to tell congressional panels what he knows about the Benghazi attack. Chaffetz said on July 9 that the Defense Department was 'not willing to pass along any sort of information' related to Bristol's whereabouts.

Now Army Maj. Robert Firman has confirmed to MailOnline that due to an 'administrative error,' Bristol was mistakenly classified as a retired officer despite his current active-duty status.......................Can you believe this crap?

The fact that the Pentagon LIED to a Senator, even Sweet Lindsey,
is a scandal in itself.

How nice of DoD to make a key witness “available” for the peoples’ representatives. /sarc

It’s amazing it taken so long, but we all know that what’s been going on to prep the colonel for this. This will be another sandbagging.

I’ll bet one of our standup Congressman such as Trey Gowdy told someone at the Pentagon to “straighten this BS out” and make this guy available, and then slammed the phone down.

Keep in mind, these are Pentagon civilians, not uniforms, ultimately controlling this.

Are redacted transcripts of the classified testimony being made available to the public. Can we see them?

Lying to Congress from the Pentagon
to HIDE their support
of al Qaeda is treason.

Not to mention STUPID since al Qaeda bombed the Pentagon.

But then, so did Bill Ayers and HE sleeps in the
Lincoln Bedroom with al Qaeda and the Moslem Brotherhood.

We had a squad exercise that we called “The Unsolveable Problem”. Star Trek fans will know it as The Kobiyashi Maru Exercise. No matter what the Squad Leader did, he was going to get his donkey kicked. Captain Kirk reprogrammed the computer so he could win. You couldn’t reprogram the lane evaluator. You just got your donkey kicked. You lost every Soldier in the squad. You lost them one at a time and slowly. The purpose of the exercise was to see how you handled getting your donkey kicked. Would you run away? Would you break down? All Combat Arms Officers, at least the good ones, realize that they might be called on to make some tough decisions.
“I’m going to have to sacrifice a company to save the battalion. Which company do I sacrifice?”
Tough call.
Sometimes, you have to call in artillery on your own position. What happens if it kills one of your own Soldiers? Maybe a round will get you?
Tough call.
Sometimes, you sacrifice your career. You kiss that promotion goodby. Your kid isn’t going to be able to have that computer. Your wife is going to have to work and the kids will be on their own after school. You’ll have to squeeze a few more years out of the Honda. That “Dream House” is always going to be a dream.
Tough call, but you volunteered for it. Sometimes, you just get your donkey kicked. Are you going to run away? Are you going to quit? F**k those politicians. We’re talking about brother Soldiers.

Yes, I doubt that the good Colonel is going to be perfectly forthcoming. If it’s not his family, it’s his pension.

And are forcing the 30+ survivors to sign the NDA’s also an administrative error? There is something very serious about this that Obama doesn’t want Americans to know about.
