Green paint was splattered overnight on parts of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., U.S. Park police say.

They say a patrol officer found green plant splashed on the floor near the famous statue of President Lincoln, and some on the base of the statue, at around 1:20 a.m. local time.

The memorial, on the National Mall, will be closed until the U.S. Park Service can clean it up.

An investigation is under way.

CBS Washington affiliate WUSA-TV says its crew members got as close as they could to the statue and didn't see the paint, but saw evidence of...

Green USED to be my favorite color, a deep dark “Forest” Green, or even a Teal or Mint, or sage green.

However, not only is green the color of islam, it is also force-fed to us daily by the environmentalist movement. Green cars, grocery bags, food packaging, businesses, cities, on and on ad nauseum.

I would be more inclined to think this was done by “Greenies”, rather than muzzies.

I'm guessing it wasn't "splattered". Security would not let the news crew close enough to film it. So it was probably spray paint graffiti that they government did not want the public to see.

Any surveillance cameras inside the memorial?

I do not know the answer to that one, but I would be shocked if there were no cameras.

I expect to read:
1. They have a suspect associated with the Tea Party
or
2.There are no suspects because the cameras has to be turned off because of sequestration

IOW:
1. Yes, there are cameras.
2. A suspect was caught on tape.
3. They have no interest in prosecuting the suspect because the perp was an Obama supporter.

Oh yes. The word that is usually translated “Pale” can also be interpreted as “Green”.

Unfortunately, my beloved Les Paul, which I bought a number of years ago, is a deep, dark hunter green.

Unless the vandal really did tote green paint up there to simply 'spatter' the monument they must've given some indication of what their beef was. Too bad the reporter didn't see fit to let us know what it was.

That is NOT a “black power fist”. It IS a statue of the forearm and fist of Joe Louis the great heavyweight champion of the `30s who was a native of Detroit and is still a revered individual in that town. Note, the Red Wings play in Joe Louis Arena.
