St. Charles [Missouri] Police, Highway Patrol Arrest Overpass Protesters
danaloeschradio.com ^ | August 18, 2013 | Dana Loesch

A few of you sent me this video, published to Youtube today, of the weekend overpass protests, this one in St. Charles, Missouri. I’m still trying to figure out what laws these protesters broke. While I wasn’t there, it seems to me the protesters were standing on public ground, not in traffic, therefor not impeding traffic. Having organized and attended many protests myself — and having worked with local law enforcement to make sure regulations (even mindlessly unnecessary ones) are met, so long as a protester isn’t standing in traffic, there isn’t an issue. Am I missing something here? Don’t miss the take-down-by-force at the end.

I’m going to reach out to the Missouri Highway Patrol and St. Charles law enforcement for comment.

Don’t forget: the Missouri Highway Patrol was one of the agencies who listed protesters just like the ones in this video as “militia” and potential domestic terrorists on the April 2009 MIAC report.

AMAZON is having problems also. Something is slowing the whole net.
BY THE WAY: to those not is favor of the demos; I didn’t hear anyone asking you to participate. Or for your opinion. As for mine:Why does there have to be only one correct protest form? And since the ‘corner protests’ were effective. has Obama been impeached?
Anyone would say the cop presence was a bigger distraction to motorists than the actual demo.
Make the ‘authority’ justify THEIR actions! We used to be free citizens!

I wasn't there, but I suppose if the people on the overpass were distracting drivers then there might be some kind of "safety" issue. At least in the minds of the authorities.

This isn’t directed at you Ben, but regarding the safety issue, it’s always about safety when it comes down to abuse by LE.

Just like when the cops are abusing someone, and a person is 100 feet away with a cell camera videoing and the cops tells them to turn off the camera due to officer safety. Sure.

your post was extreme sarcasm, correct? I mean I’ve seen some ridiculous posts here, but this takes the cake so I have to assume you were joking.

Thank you for at least reading the post. No sarcasm intended. What bothered you about the post? Please make a list. I will try to address concerns.

Just a couple of points:

Don’t the State Troopers in MO. wear badges? The LEO’s in dark blue uniforms were wearing badges, but the guys in the ‘smoky the bear’ hats were not. I hope someone got their names.

Violation of a citizen’s Constitutionally guaranteed rights, of which the right of free speech and the right to peaceably assemble to petition one’s representatives for redress of grievances are specifically mentioned in the 1st Amendment, is both a Federal crime and something for which the perpetrator can be sued by the effected individual. Get a lawyer, file charges (although we know that Holder’s DoJ will do nothing about it), and SUE THE BASTARDS! All the way up the chain of command from the arresting officer to the MO State Attorney General and the Governor. Maybe you will win, maybe you won’t, but you will force them to take the time and energy (and money) to defend themselves. As a former state employee who has been sued by my ‘clients’, I can assure you this upsets the applecart/rocks the boat, and in the future the agencies concerned will go out of their way to avoid getting in the same fix.

It took me five tries to post my reply to you....on top of numerous “preview” attempts. Then I get a double-post on top of it.

It must have something to do with the missing sidebar issue because it has been going on for three days at least. Constant need to refresh just to get the screen showing a page. Even more of the same to get the your reply page up, and on and on. I managed a couple of hours without a double post, but it is one waiting to happen.

Then, we should ban all advertising from view? Seriously?

westbound 70 was restricted to two lanes due to construction

Not any more. The bridge over the MO river is open again three months early! Eastbound was restricted, however (in addition to the festival traffic).

Yes, well, as I said above, the driver is responsible. How many of the accidents were caused by cellphones?

Also, don't forget that our "safety" is the excuse they use for the NSA spying!

“Finally, Obama isn’t the problem with the country “

I agree, the entire admin and his czars and mafia chicago style politics are in contempt to our constitution.

I didn’t say that.

I said “I can see where...” referring to a valid argument that would prevent active protests (people waving signs) over a busy highway.
