Saudi Arabia has emerged as the foremost supporter of Egypt's military rulers, explicitly backing the violent crackdown on Islamists and using its oil wealth and diplomatic muscle to help defy growing pressure from the West to end the bloodshed in search of a political solution.
As Europeans and the United States considered cutting cash aid to Egypt, Saudi Arabia said Monday that it and its allies would make up any reduction — effectively neutralizing the West's main leverage over Cairo.

Yes, the current US administration really has it's priorities in order...
I would say that US policy since 2008...has been the type that a 13-year old kid from New Jersey could write up for a class project and get a “C” from the teacher for lack of foresight, but creative in writing.
I get the impression that they really don’t have anyone of vast knowledge guiding the President, and you end up with mostly worthless advice....which the State Department is in a daze because none of the direction given....makes any sense.
And the Egyptian feeling? They have to be standing there and thinking that the US is helping the Muslim Brotherhood, causing turmoil, and part of the overall problem.
Now, within the span of 1.5 years Obama has blown it and big time. The power vacuum is opening and the US is picking it's nose. This has grave consequences for all of us.
Funny Middle East: Israel and Saudi Arabia working together to help the Generals stabilize the situation. If that means killing the armed (and sometimes not armed) radicals, then so be it. After the MB goes underground, where they belong, there will be a semblance of stability and then, where will the US be? Out int he cold with no access to the Suez Canal?
The Saudis are standing up against Islamists in Egypt, while Obama demands the Al Qaeda-loving Muslim Brotherhood gets back in power.
