Yesterday, editor in chief Lifson reported on the astonishing claim by President Obama that he didn't set a redline for chemical wepons in Syria and that his credibility was not on the line.
Lifson pointed to a meeting of Obama's political team where the message on Syria was being massaged. If this is the best they could come up with - simply denying reality - then the president is in a world of hurt.
The reality, as Jean Kaufman (Neo-Neocon) points out this morning at PJ Media is undeniable:
"I didn't set a red line. The world set a red line."
But in his statement back in August of 2012, Obama unequivocally and undeniably did set a red line. Watch the video, and note especially around 2:07-2:08 when he gestures to himself and says, with emphasis, "us," and his back-and-forth use of the terms "we," "us," and "I" to mean the same thing: himself, or his administration with himself in charge. At no point does he cite the international community, except earlier in his statement when he speaks briefly and generally about the international community's role in a possible eventual transition from the Assad regime to a new government in Syria.
Kaufman takes apart Obama's answer from his press conference in Sweden. Here it is in its entirety:
Let me unpack the question. First of all, I didn't set a red line. The world set a red line. The world set a red line when governments representing 98 percent of the world's population said the use of chemical weapons are abhorrent and passed a treaty forbidding their use even when countries are engaged in war. Congress set a red line when it ratified that treaty.

And the media will slavishly erase his previous words where he did set a red line.
Under the soviet union, they went into the history books and rewrote history to promote their agenda. No different from what is happening here.
I guess Montana is off the grid.
yes money makes a difference
but money can’t vote
Politicians know that
and they absolutely do pay attention to their votrs phone calls
the Tea Party changed the balance
But let’s say you don’t believe it
why wouldn’t you make a phone call anyway?
Just 30 sec of your time
why wouldn’t you call?
That struck me as funny also. I guess Montana gets its news once a week by stagecoach? I could have sworn last time I stayed in Billings there was at least one black and white TV station and an AM transmitter on the hill.
Obama is sounding like Bart Simpson...”I didn’t do it...nobody saw me do it”
He really has no skill at that either. If we had a responsible media he would be toast.
I won’t call because my congressman is a democratic party hack who toes the line.
My district was gerrymandered several years ago to protect four surrounding red districts, which left voters like myself in the lurch.
Also, I’m not so naive to think my voice speaks louder than campaign contributions. I learned this at an early age when I volunteered to do some door-knocking in Raleigh to lobby about dog fighting. They wouldn’t even let us in the door without a pledged bribe.
Only a teenager or a silly goose thinks Washington feeds on anything other than money.
Didn’t the Jedi mind trick actually work in the movie?
Or, it could be that a man decides to unplug? Ya think?
He is a liar. A continuous liar.
Greta was interviewing Rumsfeld last night and when she referred to that statement, Rummy was gobsmacked. He said he had been in Montana and and not heard that Obama said that. He was somewhat at a loss for words.

The words he should have said: This is a lie.
The insult aside no matter how much a big biz gives any candidate the candidate still needs actual votes to win .
There have been enough instances the last few years to prove that voters CAN change things
But your mind is made up.
Thank goodness there are still people open minded and willing to make an effort to change things.
"I didn't set a Red Line.....you're the one who set a Red Line. I think it's funny that you actually would think I set a Red Line."
There’s a reason why elections don’t change things.
Think about it.
The same people remain in charge, no matter the puppet in the White House.
Both my Senators—an R and a D—are strongly backing this new war.
My governor—a very conservative man—is backing the war while my congressman—a leftist by any measure—is doing the same.
Why? Because elections cost MILLIONS of dollars, that’s why.
Presidential elections cost a BILLION.
Golden Rule.
He must have been one hideous little kid because he’s grown into an obnoxious, pampered, overindulged big kid. Toots and Gramps must have spoiled him rotten and they certainly instilled him with an over inflated ego.
He lies soooooo much that he does not even know he is lying.
Obama is becoming so unhinged, he just might have a "Captain Queeg" moment any day now.
