As the long-awaited debut of so-called Obamacare approaches, it should come as no surprise that the single largest piece of legislation ever written - that directly impacts one-sixth of the U.S. economy - is giving rise to lots and lots of unexpected outcomes, both positive and negative.

''We're trying to go to full time employment. We'd love to have people on 40 hours a week but the government is going in just the opposite direction," Funk says, noting that lower-waged hourly workers are particularly likely to see their shifts cut from 40 to 29 or 30 hours a week by employers intentionally looking to dodge mandatory health benefits.

This was in the Wall Street Journal a few days ago.
I lived near Bob Funk when I lived in OK. Children went to school with his. They were friends.
Bob Funk is the real deal. A kind and generous person and a good businessman.
He is spot on with this.
>>>causing some companies to consider placing their entire workforce on his staffing company’s payroll rather than hiring them themselves...

And probably causing 0 to claim this company is hiring exceptional numbers of people which not mentioning that the smaller companies are dropping their jobs into the staffing company which means NO GAIN for employment in this circumstance.
Dems don’t care, they just want the votes of the gullible.
Meanwhile, wait till you hear the screaming of those put off their company health plans and provided a stipend replacing the employer portion of their group coverage. They will be happy until they get the tax bill at which time reality sinks in: they went to Vegas, hit a few bets but when they got home they had no money left.
“which” should be “while,” COFFEE, COFFEE.
Businesses want to delink health care from an employer responsibility. There are better ways to do that than Obamacare.
1) You'll need to find a job through a staffing agency like the on Mr. Funk owns.
2) They take a portion of what you would make as a direct hire, so you're missing out on income.
3) You cannot make ends meet on 29 hrs, so you need a second job through the same, or another staffing agency. Again, a portion of the income from that position goes to the employment agency.
4) You end up working 40-60 hrs a week between the 2 jobs.
5) Your expenses for travel likely go up unless you are fortunate enough to have 2 jobs very close to each other.
6) Without direct hire employees, loyalty, incentive, and quality plummet. Products and services drastically decline.
7) You still have to pay outrageous premiums for substandard healthcare.

"I mean, can you imagine a defund Obamacare effort, how much more likelihood it might hold if members of Congress really were upset with how much it was gonna cost 'em? But then Obama came up and took care of that. He's gonna subsidize 75% of their premium, so they now don't care. But if he hadn't subsidized 75% of their premiums for Congress, Senate, and their staffs, then they might not be so eager to have this thing fully funded and implemented. But Obama took care of them. But when he goes out to these low-information audiences and college kids, he doesn't care. He just tells them how wonderful and how great it is, and they'll deal with it later. "
"You really have to wonder, if Obamacare is so great, why did Congress demand to be exempted from it? And they did. I mean, they demanded to be exempted from it like the elites demand to be exempted from everything they subject all the rest of us to. Why are the unions trying to get their own carve-out? Why is everybody trying to make some move to get their own carve-out or waiver from this thing if it is so wonderful? In fact, if it's so wonderful, why does it even need to be sold at all? Why does Obama have to go out there and tout the thing, if it's so wonderful? I mean, it ought to just sell itself, shouldn't it?"
Not just the gullible. Many liberals have been profoundly brainwashed into refusing to consider any information that differs with what they have been instructed to believe.
“7) You still have to pay outrageous premiums for substandard healthcare.”

The bell ringer right there. I really think that many Americans still have not realized that on top of all the rest healthcare INSURANCE is not healthCARE! The end result will be what I warned people of when all this mess began, in the end there will be NO REAL HEALTHCARE for anyone except a few elites, the rest of us will be better off to learn to take care of ourselves, going to the so-called physicians who will be available will very likely be more dangerous than just staying home and trying to suffer through whatever problem you have. With all the garbage about cholesterol, the moving targets on blood pressure and blood sugar etc. modern medicine is already creating more health problems than it cures. The one bright spot has been trauma care, many who would have died from trauma in the past have been saved in recent years but we can look forward to a drastic drop in trauma care and “triage” procedures which will include consigning many who would have been saved in the recent past by heroic intervention to the category of “just try to keep them as comfortable as possible until they pass away.” Major surgery such as heart bypasses for people over seventy five will be a thing of the past.
My husband already lost his job due to obamacare. Ca’t wait to see how much more we’re going to have to pay for health insurance!
I am looking at a silver plan on the Washington State exchange with $1,500 per person deductible and $6,350 family deductible and 20% co-insurance. Mail order generic drugs $5 with no deductible. We actually get most of our scripts filled at Wal-Mart for $4 anyway.
Because my income cratered a long time ago the subsidy is high. Let's just say the premium will be less than food costs, in the beginning anyway.
I think Connecticut has a state exchange also.
