Storm clouds gathering

Showdown at Capitol moves into weekend

WASHINGTON — Time running short, the Democratic-controlled Senate passed urgent legislation Friday to avert a government shutdown early next week, and President Barack Obama lectured House Republicans to stop “appeasing the tea party” and quickly follow suit.

Despite the presidential plea — and the urgings of their own leaders — House GOP rebels showed no sign of retreat in their drive to use the threat of a shutdown to uproot the nation’s three-year-old health care law.

“We now move on to the next stage of this battle,” said Sen. Ted Cruz, the Texas Republican who is a face of the “Defund Obamacare” campaign in the Senate and is in close contact with allies in the House.

It’s OK. Our GOP rebels are “vetted rebels” so it should be OK but they’re not backed by the GOPe olde guard. The GOPe leadership is still trying to figure out why they are no longer the leaders.

If there is a shut down, will the rats again be on TV with their rubber chickens and bottles of ketchup?

They are not the leaders.

They need conservatives.

They took conservatives for granted.

Now there are conservatives in the freshman class who refuse to be turned with temptations and bribes. They are doing their jobs.

GOPe is finished. It will be, in so many ways, like cleaning out the attic. But, because we are moving, it has to be done.

I cannot believe that someone posted an AP editorial disguised as a news story from the Casa Grande Dispatch, The worst newspaper in the history of newspapers.

This is all a joke...

Like strict term limits at all levels of government....Never happen...

Like our lawless violent open borders...They’ll nevery be secured.

Like govenrment taxing, regulating and controlling nearly everything you do or touch, including healthcare...It will be forcibly shoved down your throats.

Time running short, the Democratic-controlled Senate passed urgent legislation Friday to avert a government shutdown early next week...

So, according to AP, the Dems have done their part. Just waiting on those pesky Republicans.

It is not the Republicans threatening shutdown.

It is the adamant demand by Harry Reid in the Senate and the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut that are making the threats, permitting only three options, “My way, my way, or my way”.

I don’t know, they come off sounding like whiny kids having a tantrum about nap time, or something.

Shutting down the Federal government does not mean that oxygen will disappear from the atmosphere, or that the sea basins shall become dust bowls, or that the surface of the earth fractures, burying us all in a hot flow of magma. It does mean that whining and crying aside, a very real discipline gets enforced upon those who cannot or will not give credence to repeated warnings and admonitions.

Because if this course of imprudent spending and assigning of unsustainable entitlements is not reversed, there WILL come a day when the Federal government shall be compelled to shut down, for real and maybe for quite a long time.

Are you from Casa Grande? Really, I somehow doubt it’s the “worst ever.” As long as the AZ Republic remains in print, CGD will always be second worst in AZ, at best. But if you were talking about AP, I’d agree. The worst wire service ever, always has been.

The GOPe are not the leaders anymore because they have betrayed real Americans that are not users and losers like most Democrats are.

I’m 63 but I’ll be damned if I ever trust another politician my age again. Especially if they’ve been in politics ever since they grew hair on their cojones.

I want some more like Ted Cruz...I want some 40 somethings that have a wife and kids and looking at what this country is going to be like for their little girls and their little boys and they don’t like what they see one damn bit. I want some bellys on fire and some frames standing tall and defiant. I’ll be there with them. And if what needs to happen is for me to forego something or to help out, I’ll do it.

I just want to see these socialist, foreign bastards and these inbred, ingrained politicians erased from our rolls. I want a sovereign country with real borders and I want these Muslim jihadists out of my country.

They took conservatives for granted.

Actually, we were not taken for granted, we were silenced, stifled, and suppressed. The GOPe has no regard for conservatism.

Can’t WAIT to watch McConnell squirm in his Primary. I, for one, will be donating to Matt Bevin and I am from New York. I understand there is huge anger at Cornyn in Texas for being a RINO squish.

Here’s how I think it will go - zero will circumvent the House and issue an EO to fund everything there is to fund (including his next 57 vacations . . . . . . which he will take between now and Christmas!)!

There is no point in continuing to pay the Congress and all their perks when zero will do whatever he wants via EO. Adjourn the Congress so zero can have some extra spending money for Christmas.
