Harry Reid Calls John Boehner ‘Coward’ in Private, ‘Nice Guy’ in Public
New York Post ^ | October 4, 2013 | Geoff Earle

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid ripped House Speaker John Boehner as a “coward” in private on Thursday — and immediately afterwards described him as a “nice guy” in public.

“He’s a coward,” Reid said of Boehner, referring to his GOP rival’s efforts to preserve subsidies for lawmakers’ health-care coverage, while later backing a House bill to end them.

Reid made the comment at a closed-door meeting of Democratic senators Thursday, Politico reported.

Minutes later, he went before TV cameras with a different assessment.

“I feel positive that John Boehner — who’s basically a nice guy — cannot let this go on,” Reid told reporters.

The authors quote Reid as saying privately that Obama, as a black candidate, could be successful thanks, in part, to his "light-skinned" appearance and speaking patterns "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

Reid has misspoken on previous occasions particularly in reference to a certain light-skinned Negro, who by the grace of God had no Negro dialect unless of course he was alone with his homo homies. But what was most egregious about his misstatement was the part in which he inferred that just such an unlikely political chimera...

..."could be successful".

"I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments.

Reid pointed to his efforts to integrate the Las Vegas Strip and the gaming industry, among other legislation favored by African-American voters.

"I have worked hard to advance issues important to the African American community."

Reid added that in choosing to meet with the nocturnal women of the Vegas Strip as part of his duties to patronize his constituency after hours, it would be primarily based on consideration to, of Affirmative Action, of whom, he was quoted as saying, he would have declared "temporary Federal employee" as part of his very own legislation towards the advancement of financial opportunity and understanding between the races.

Reid and I agree on something. Boehner is a coward.

His concern for his job is assuring that he must lose his job.

Wow. I’m shocked. In private, Reid can stumble onto truth...

Boner is just a loser, traitor one day, coward the next, it is his own fault, he has no foundation to stand on, the constitution is beyond his understanding, the republican platform is beyond his moral compass.

He wants to be loved, he ain’t feeling it.

Reid is following the Democrat Play book to the letter; so predictable!

So far John Boehner is far from a coward by his actions, as measured through his response to the "non Establishment" members of his party.

Boehner must be doing something right because he is on the Democrat's "enemies list," as are the American public, especially our WWII war veterans. Maybe Reid can explain that unprecedented, mean-spirited, and vicious act by the Democrat Party, without calling anyone names!

No a big fan of John Boehner, but so far in this shutdown fight he deserves a Well Done. And he deserves our support, thus far.

I don’t know about anyone else but with all the duplicitous enmity amongst our cowering Senators (the majority of them, anyway), I’d like to see a return to the days of the Burr-Hamilton Duel.

If you have a beef with a Senator from another STATE, then by damn, back it up like a man and take or give your ass-whipping.

Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me

For Reid to make such an utterance means he he is feeling the stones being hurled.

He is old. Perhaps he’ll succumb to apoplexy and move off the stage.

I’d like to get them both in a room alone for a few minutes. They’d get to see if Obamacare covers all their expenses.

Problem is in Wahington, DC, requirements imposed by local gun laws makes the duel highly unlikely. :-)
