A new rally is forming, Million Vet March On The Memorials that will be held 9am October 13, 2013 at the war memorials in Washington D.C.
The group is fed up with veterans being used as political pawns and are calling all patriots to attend, via their facebook page:
We are all military brats, current and former military spouses and some veterans. We cannot express how utterly disappointed we were that our Greatest Generation were being used as political pawns in the ongoing government shutdown and budget crisis. This should never be the case.
We do not care what political leanings you may be; be it liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent or whatever. The actions of the U.S. government this week with regard to barricading and shutting down the World War II Memorial to veterans, that may or may not be on their last trip to Washington DC, is a despicable act of cowardice.
Veterans this week were unwillingly pitted as pawns in this crisis. We feel that this should never be the case. This is why we will go to Congress after the budget crisis and ask for a bill to be introduced that would prevent any member of the government from closing our memorials down to any American, except for maintenance purposes. In the meantime, we will have our March in Washington DC on October 13th! Our veterans deserve that!
Many in our group have decided that enough is enough. We are Americans. We are proud of our heritage and our service. As all of us were military brats and spouses, we have served in some form or another our entire lives. This is our way of life. We will not stand by and let the U.S. government dishonor the legacy of sacrifice of the generations before us. It is time to make a stand! We hope that you will join us in our peaceful protest against anti-American policies.
The group also has a website, click here for more information.
I believe we need an aggregator thread of live events, shtdosn photos and tales of restraint of trade that lead to what 0bama, Reid and the Democrats are doing.
I nominate this one, but we need one.
Giant ping.
Excuse me. Sh!tdown photos.
******Notice to ‘Truckers Ride for the Constitution’******
If you are unable to go for this ride but are driving for your company that....”we do ask you to fly the flag and ride in convoy formation in solidarity of the RIDE for media that will be covering it.”

Take cameras and video for the chance “opposition” will infilitrate.
I wasn't actually thinking of military folks when I asked "What current employees of the Federal government would willingly use violent force to enforce confiscation of personal property that would accompany Martial Law?"
I guess it would only be the U.S. military that would enforce Martial Law?
I wonder about other Federal employees. Airport screeners -- aren't they fed employees? Those parks police and guards -- feds? The pistol packin' Fisn 'n Game punks "saving the planet"? The EPA? The AFT "Sin" Bureau? FBI?
Not military, but Federal employees with enforcement powers all the same. Some of those agencies are pretty scary.
I should bone up more on who exactly "employees of the Federal government" are, but that is what I was thinking of when I wrote the question.
I think they’re just saying you need to take cameras and videos in case they plant bad people in the march to stir things up. You want to have photo documentation and video.
I wont obey, and that I solemnly promise you all.
Yesterday at the WWII Memorial, I saw people who would obey. I was inside the Memorial with 100s of others. I was 10 feet behind the Park Rangers while they explained to people that the park was closed. Despite me waving and inviting them in, they turned and left like obedient serfs.
That was dismaying.
Weather is forecasted to be sunny and 75 degrees.
Perfect weather!
Bump to the top
Here’s the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Million-Vet-March-on-the-Memorials/539097822833735
Giving this a bump, sorry can’t be there, will be recovering from a facet lumbar nerve block, which I doubt will work, the 2 regular ones only made it worse.
Thanks Owen
On, please....
How can we organize these marches in all of the major cities in the US on this date?
Yesterday on my way home from the WWII Memorial there were two Impeach Obama Overpass Demonstrations going south on I-95.
Hook up with them like Humblegunner: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3061069/posts

Martial law won't mean jack sh!t if a civil war starts.
But you can be assured those in Congress would be fleeing like the rats they are.
I will stand with you and all Patriots should we be forced to stand up!
I'm a big fan of proper planning, logistics, and execution when it comes to large scale events, but let's not forget that we're not necessarily discussing the usual here.
The time for large scale, organized rallies in the park, with stages and speakers is over. The times and the threat we face, demand a very different kind of response from the people. We've now reached the point where we need to conduct widespread and sustained acts of civil disobedience to push back against the tyrannical federal behemoth.
Sure, a fair amount of organizing will be required to execute effective major demonstrations of that type, but it's not nearly as neat and meticulous as that required for planning a major rally. I'd say we should be careful to not over-think and over-plan such things. It's much more important to harness and direct the people's anger in a productive direction.
If I can get there, will definitely pick up a camera just to document things. Actually going to visit 3 different business places in the region and might go to where my surname ancestor first step foot on America (Jamestown). After that will head up to DC. Can spend a few days in the area if I want. Just got to see those memorials though. This is history happening right before our eyes.
