– Some Catholic priests under contract or GS (general schedule) to the military are not allowed to offer the Catholic sacraments--including saying Mass, consecrating marriages, or performing baptisms--on military property during the government shutdown, and if they do, even on a volunteer basis, they risk being arrested, according to the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA.

MORE SHUTDOWN NEWS..REALTED

riest: Obama Admin. Denied Mass to Catholics

How about trying this one on for size? Here is the press release headline from Congressman Tim Huelskamp’s office this afternoon:

Obama Administration Denies Mass to Catholics

Apparently, a priest was denied access to a military chapel this weekend. Father Ray Leonard serves at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia but because of the government shutdown, he wasn’t allowed to go to celebrate Mass this past weekend.

I have no animosity for Priests. And you have no power over me.

We’re all on the same side but our frustrations are preventing us from being as united as we should be.

Anne, there is responsibility (to God) all around in this picture.

The governments shouldn’t be going beyond their biblical charter of keeping basic order, affirming what is good, and national defense against implacable enemies.

Christian pastors should be bold about ministering to the best of their conscience before God...

Priest: Obama Admin.

He is contracted by the Defense Department to meet the spiritual needs of Catholics, but not now. The chapel doors were locked and the sign said, “Shutdown: No Catholic service till further notice.”

I know Catholics who go to Mass religiously (no pun intended), get Holy Communion and yet deeply believe that it’s somehow OK to kill an unborn infant, and had NO problem voting for this thug. Or Clinton back in the day, for that matter. So... nothing surprises me.

We know what they are called -CINOs. Yea, us Catholics come in all shapes & sizes.

Do it anyway. How would it look if the regime started mass-arresting clergy, especially if they were being arrested for serving our troops?

Many here would say no, they won't arrest them. However, if they did & it's possible, this would be the total end of ever referring to this nation as a democracy.

This is how it works.

It works if there is a protest. A lot of talk but no action doesn’t accomplish anything.

The only action I’ve seen is the old World War II vets going into the WW II memorial.

“....lesson to all of those Catholics who insist on voting Democrat that the Democrats are no friends to Catholics.”

.
You thunk they get the message?

No one can be as dumb as a dumb Catholic. I should know — I meet them on a daily basis.

Of course.

People want to see everyone stomping back at Mr. Stompyfoot.

The issue is, what is the proper path.

Boehner has the power and the path. We are all frustrated that he doesn’t use it.

But that does not necessarily mean everyone who doesn’t do what we want them to do is guilty of wimpiness.

The fact is that the Archbishop of Military services has protested this and he has gone to lengths to make people aware. If people can protest about the war memorials why can’t they about this?

When they say, the WWII Vets ought to give ‘em hell, as they’re so good at it, I protested and echoed mark Levin in saying that, no, it is our turn to take care of THEM.

The military needs our protection if the government for who they work, who works FOR us, at our command and voting power, acts against their interests.

The people here are so ready to haul off and jump on the Church, and in this case, the priests.

As I’ve said, the priests would be silly to protest this exercise of secondary duty.

If BO tells them not to minister to deployed troops in the field, you and I will certainly see something different, in which case the civilians, for whom the president works, would be most obliged to not force a protest on the priests, but who would protect them and clear the way for them to minister.

This FR fight has absolutely nothing to do with religious liberty of Catholics. No practicing Catholic, who knows the system would call for the priests to stage a protest.

We could take a lesson for the WWII memorial situation, take a look at how we, the voters, are always wanting someone else to do our fighting, some elder.

When all we need to do is realize it’s government by the people.

we are in charge of Obama and Boehner. they work for us. That is true whether they believe it or not and whether they accept it or not.

The congress and the pres do not work for the military. THey are in charge of the military but only by hierarchy, only through their civilian bosses.

The military cannot protest to the CIC. It’s not the way it works.

The military chaplains are among our finest.

But it is the Catholic or general civilian community, by the Constitution, which has to be adhered to in winning out the rule of law here, ask Ted Cruz, who are in charge.

And people just need to quit relying on the old, we got to the moon, we beat hitler, tell the military to tell the pres to shove it, and get to work being in charge of politicians who are hired to represent us.

Yes. And it should not be up to a group of 95 year olds any more than up to our active duty military who work for the government, to protest.

It is up to us, for whom the government works.

Sigh.

The military trusts the civilian population to keep the government from not abusing them.

They can’t run around individually thinking that the CIC or the congress in in contempt of the Constitution and protest, or worse.

These priests are certainly minding their duty to God.

All of these people are able to attend sunday mass in the civilian churches. The military does not have to provide the services.

If you want a good and sawful military, then you have to accept that they are not happy with this vut there is a line . And this does not cross it.

All the parishoners are able to go to town. And they don’t blame the priests, as they are under the same pressure to comply with homosexuality sensitivity training and the like.

They put the blame where it belongs. The drugged up immature do nothing civilian population that foists these politicians on us without taking charge of their own country.

this is just Catholic hatred.

Take a swipe at the State Troopers who complied w bo to put a cover on Mt. Rushmore.

There is a huge amount of pent up anger out there. We’ll see how much of it is vented and in what ways.

Last week I got into a verbal battle with a really ignorant liberal (they are all ignorant but this guy was beyond ignorant) and it could have gotten physical very quickly.

What they have already done is in direct violation of the Constitution.

Even if they don’t arrest Priests, this is an outrage that should be addressed - but by whom?
