MILLION MAN MARCH
After Action Report
13 October 2013

As I walked down 17th Street to the WWII Memorial I was passed by at least a dozen D.C Police cruisers and Paddy wagons. Two Secret Service cruisers were blocking vehicular access to 17th below Constitution Avenue.

I was late arriving and missed Sarah Palin, Mike Lee and Ted Cruz.

Arriving at the Memorial, I made my way to the high U.S. Flag and Gadsden Flag
held by FReeper Mr. Trooprally.

ConorMacNessa, Mr. Trooprally and Ron G. Kirby

Those who arrived before me made short work of the Barackades:

This young lady was stting just west of the WWII Memorial:

On my way to the Vietnam Vets Memorial:

At the Wall, I was able to find the names of several of my Fallen Brothers:

The Wall - W-25 - HM/3 Jerome L. Menter And Others Fallen 11May1969

The Wall - W-22 - Jack Murdock, Eddie Locklear And Others Fallen 21-22 June 1969

A lady at the WWII Memorial was giving out these cards to any Vets she encountered:

"Riamh nár dhruid ó sbairn lann!"

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Good evening, Luv!

*HUGS*

Thanks very much for the kind words.

On my way back to the car, I ran into a retired Major walking with his daughter. We talked about our Fathers, both WWII vets, among other things. It was great to be able to share stories with guys like him - and some gals - who stood up for this great Nation.

God Bless them all! I told this soldier that I felt in mo way diminished by reference to our Fathers' generation as the "Greatest Generation."

They were. The adversity, carnage, and horror through which they persevered and ultimately achieved Victory was truly momentous. Their Victory over a monstrous tyranny was a pivotal moment in Western Civilization, and we are heavily indebted to them.

Aw, thank you, dearest ConorMacNessa. Anything and everything I do here is a labor of love. My husband, DrO, is the USNA graduate and USAF veteran in our house. He’s my hero and “sweetie pie.”

God bless you and your wonderful, awesome family and beautiful wife, Mfkmmof4.

Well, at least it didn’t appear to be a repeat of the Bonus Marchers rout. That was something that I was actually afraid of: an American version of Tian An Men Square, just lighter on the bloodshed.

It touched me as well, BikyBayb! I walked up to the Wall and there was a line of our vets, families and patriotic citizens carrying Barackades in the direction of the WH. As I walked down to the Wall, there were a couple of Park Rangers standing at the side. They did nothing - I think they were with us. I was unimpeded on my walk through the Wall past the names of over 56,000 of my Fallen Brothers and Sisters in Arms.

I couldn't find the book at the west end of the Wall, but I went on my phone to the Virtual Wall and found the names of my 3/5 Brothers who fell in the Mothers' Day Massacre, 11May1969, among them, HM/3 Jerome Menter, on his second tour in Nam.

Also, on 21Jun1969, Pfc. Jack Murdock, USMC - a Brother and friend. We often shared coffee and cocoa together - and played a card game the name of which I can't remember. He was 19 years old when he died. I have posted on the circumstances of his death before - it still stings over four decades later.

God Bless their Valiant Souls! They shine forever in Youth and Bravery!

*sniff* God Bless and watch over our Veterans.

The barrycade got to ride with a man of honor to the dishonored white house (if that is where it ended up), a monument that really should be barrycaded.
