Johnny Jones who attends school in Fawn Grove, Pa., was suspended from school for a day after he made an imaginary bow out of his pencil, pulled back an imaginary string and shot his imaginary arrow. That was back in October and now his parents are deciding on whether or not to bring legal action.
Ten-year-old Johnny Jones was disciplined under the school's zero-tolerance weapons policies. Apparently he asked the teacher for a pencil and while he was walking back to his seat, a classmate held his folder up like an imaginary gun and "shot" at Johnny. Johnny played along and drew his pencil and imaginary "bow" and "shot" an arrow back. A girl in the class told the teacher who then took both boys into the hall.
Johnny's mother, Beverly Jones, was contacted and explained the seriousness of using "firearms" as horseplay. The principal got involved and Jones was suspended for a day under the school's strict weapons policy because they deemed his behavior as "making a threat" to another student using a "replica or representation of a firearm".
The parents want the expulsion rescinded and the punishment taken off the boys permanent record. The school district, which is part of the South Eastern School District West, has until Friday to respond before Johnny's parents decide whether to move forward with legal action.
Ditto
I want to see if all the stuff the principal and teachers told me was gonna be on mine really is.
They are not nuts. They know what they are doing. The goal is to criminalize the thought of a weapon.
There was no weapon. The school must be sued.
What would reduce this would be if the names and pics of the idiots were given national exposure and ridicule.
School Nazis - liberals running leftist indoctrination programs - need to be stopped.
I’m sorry your grandson was subjected to this mess... Seem the liberal feminist education establishment has special hated for young boys...

Yep. Whoever approved the policy needs to be fired and whoever wrote it as well. Unfortunately when you have a union protecting a bureaucracy, that's hard to do.
LOL! In tenth grade my neighbor and I skipped to go fishing. Our timing was slightly off though, and we met 3 or 4 buses as we were headed out on our bicycles with our poles.
You nailed it ‘fox. They are very patient also and this long ago implemented and ongoing conditioning of the kiddies is just one part of their overall American sheeple’s conditioning plan. The TSA, road checkpoints, VIPER teams, pat downs at stadium events etc. etc. etc. are all designed to have the majority of the American sheeple conditioned when they drop the hammer. When the planned dollar collapse happens, when Martial Law is implemented, and after 1-2 months of no food and water and all hell taking place in the Country’s streets causes a 90% ‘thinning of the herd’ happens, the remaining 10% will do exactly as they are told. When will this happen? Who knows but make no mistake, it is gonna happen.
You know you can use a sheet of paper as a “sling” to shoot that pencil into the ceiling.
Lay the pencil on the paper, hold the short ends of the paper together, then pull forcibly apart.
Lawsuits seem to be the only way to quell this kind of stupidity that is running rampant in schools.
wanna fight back???
either go to the school board elections and vote the commies out...
or run for school board yourself, with several friends, and TAKE control...
you do not need a masters degree to run a school district.
hell, if you can read and add (most on school boards cannot do that) then you will do a better job then they are..
just sayin
Yeah, turn yourself in you criminal!! I have one for ya. When I was in elementary school we made ‘darts’. A sewing needle lifted from Mom’s sewing kit, a pencil’s eraser for weight stuck thru and set about 2/3rds. up towards the eye end, and then 2 small pieces of note book paper folded and and run thru and set as ‘guidance fins’ at the very eye end. Wait until the teach was out of the room and then you would say, “Bombs over Tokyo” and let it fly! In a good high arc they would come down and stick in anything but the floor. It is flat amazing no kid lost any eyeball because that high arc throw landed, (and stuck!!), a few right on top of a kid’s head if ya thru it correctly. Not one kid was ever disclipined for this classroom terrorism that I heard of. Oh Yeah, I should get the electric chair!!!
The whole purspose of this exercise was accomplished before the teacher even got involved.
Schools are inculcating a visceral loathing of guns into the youngest possible children. These kids will eventually grow up and become voters. When you try to describe to them the benefits of an armed, law-abiding citizenry in a free society, it will be like explaining the benefits of milk to someone who has a severe lactose allergy.
Is it any wonder that Bill Ayers, having failed to destroy our freedoms through bombing innocent Americans, transformed himself into a "an American elementary education theorist".

Paper sling, huh? I used a ruler. Big pink eraser as the fulcrum and pencil on one end. Whack the other end of the ruler and that pencil would launch nicely into the asbestos tiles.
Prejudice against women back then worked to the advantage of school children.
Today's teachers benefit from that legacy - unfairly. Today's teachers are the people who back then would have been clerking at the five and dime - or selling shoes.
If we want quality schools we should abolish teacher's unions, fire every person with the title 'teacher' - pay teachers $100,000 a year and drop the requirement of 'education' classes. If quality people were able to compete on a level playing field ALL the problems we now deal with (kids who can't read - kids who can't do math - cutting - teen suicides..) most of it would be gone. Yesterday's news.
Just wow.
Hubby has a rule about pointing weapons including fingers at people. You never know when you will run into someone who will react negatively to fake gun pointing. Anywho, I am a bit baffled why the principal did not make this a teaching moment about the proper use of firearms of whatever kind. Inside the classroom is not the time for a game of good guy/bad guy, so the boys should have been admonished. But the teacher should have handled that. And then the parents could further discuss when it is appropriate to “play” gunslinger or bow fighter. Or whatever.
I have spent some time with elementary children in the last few weeks. Whew. There are some very poorly behaved children in the mix. I asked some of them if they behaved that way at home. One boy said, “No. My Mama would whoop me with an extension cord.” OK. But he sure didn’t fear anyone at the school would. They were like wild animals. Ugh.
The day and age of little boys with their cap guns playing Roy Rogers or Hop Along Cassidy are long gone the same as that good ole boy sheriff Andy of Mayberry types the little kids could look up to.
Today play pretending to carry out rights under the 2nd Amendment is punishable and cops are more apt to be feared than respected.
Well, it is one more lawsuit threat more than sandy hook has right now....
LOL! Can you believe me and my friends use to bring cap guns to school as well LOL They would get confiscated though if they teacher caught us with them but thats it, no suspension no going to the principal, but can you imagine today? The kid would get arrested and suspended for life lol. they dont even sell those anymore. We use to go to the store and stock up on boxes of them and we would use a hammer and bang on a whole roll at once so it sounded like a shotgun going off lol
