A&E declares war on 'Duck Dynasty's' Christian values
Fox News ^ | Dec. 19, 2013 | Todd Starnes

Duck Dynasty has been sacrificed on the altar of political correctness.

By now you probably know that A&E indefinitely suspended Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the Duck Dynasty family, for following the teachings of the Holy Bible. Nothing says tolerance and diversity by silencing the Christians and shoving them in a closet.

Between you and me, I think Duck Dynasty ought to indefinitely suspend A&E.

Phil ran afoul of intolerant leftwing bullies after making comments about homosexuality to GQ magazine. When the writer asked Phil what he considered to be sinful behavior, he replied:

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says.

Then he paraphrases Paul’s letter to the Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

That comment went over about as well as a Chick-fil-A sandwich at a gay pride parade.

That is true we have the option as a nation to turn back to GOD once again for His blessing and healing of our nation. Those without TV but have Internet should go into Youtube and search Phil Robertson. There are some real good video's of Phil, Jase, Si, Mountain Man, Willie, and others spreading The Gospel.

This isn't just about a show. This is about an attempt to silence the Robertson's message using their show as leverage. The Robertsons are millionaires several times over set for life as well as their kids and grandkids yet spreading The Gospel is first in their life. That is what the fight with A&E is about.

They are probably under contract with A&E.

You can force someone to act.

You can't force them to act well.

we are much happier now that we have cut off cableTV and watch only maybe an hour or two of the boobtoob altogether per month. a little local news, occasionally a science or cultural program if something good is on offer.

that’s it.

we now have time to “make a life” for ourselves!

Isn’t A&E the channel that runs Storage Wars? Didn’t one of the original storage war buyers, Dave Hester, sue A&E because they were salting the lockers?

Anything for a buck, A&E.
Maybe the FCC should take away their license for committing fraud?

This story has now dominated talk radio for 24 hours. Everything else has moved off the table. Rush has taken a break from the story to spend day two on PajamaBoi4Obamacare.

Crooks in the administration are lying to Congress every time they appear and the mouthpieces are off in the weeds.

Methinks that this is gonna have lots of legs....and that A&E won’t be happy when it’s over..

And it should not be allowed to die. You’re not understanding what is going on. If A&E can shut him up it is because of something that will destroy our nation written about here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2031059/posts

Sure that’s why Obama and Reid have often referred to China’s government and wished things were as “easy” here for them.

Glad I caught your post. Stewart is going to either have to avoid the whole subject entirely, or be at his hypocritical finest. His writer staff are all gay, I think, and they will want to roast Robertson. But Robertson’s ratings are far higher than Stewart’s… Stewart is at a real risk of looking like a jealous tool. I just might have to tune in.

As it SHOULD be with us all!

Phil Robertson, the patriarch.......

I agree with him 100% as far as men who desire the anus of another man. Sickening sick sick..... Why sugar coat it. It is up there with bestiality as Phil said. Men are made to want women and to reduce this to basics we want women's vaginas just like Phil said in more Biblical terms

You will surely be on the losing side of most battles in that case. The vast majority of businesses are pro gay marriage now., or at the very least they don’t want people spouting off about it.

That sounds like a free society for the businessman and not so free for anyone else.

I would think more of the reverse. The government restricts the reasons for which an employer can decide to terminate an employee, and requires that the employer enforce certain behavioral and speech codes.

It is called “at will” employment - go to a red state and learn about it.

Huh! Imagine that!

Since A&E Network openly stated their support for the LGBT less than one percenters of America, I guess not.

(I didn’t know that, either, since I got involved, once a corporation attempted to silence the speech of a free man.)

I lived a great deal of my life outside the US. When I came back to work 3.5 years (2010) in the DC area...I got cable TV. I was kinda shocked at the number of channels and varied options that a guy could have.

This kinda brings me to a couple of observations.

First, I’m amazed that marginal number of viewers would be enough to support the Golf Channel or the Cooking Network. There’s obviously not a huge following but enough to make a network possible.

Second, I’ve come to note that the whole management crowd for networks are kinda like major league baseball. Some real losers managing their networks, and some bold managers pushing a marginal network to success.

Third, the options via cable TV? Ten times better than what the big-three offered from two decades ago. I lived in the US in the late 80’s...and thought it was pretty marginal entertainment at that point in time. Cable, and eventual streaming video...are going to kill off the profit ability of the big-three.

Fourth and final. It’s hard to see a network invented out of thin air, that fit’s the Duck Dynasty values. It’d have to be clean entertainment...acceptable to kids and the older generation....and some stories/shows that would hold viewers to the network. A one-show network won’t work. You’d have to find a dozen Duck Dynasty themes to make this work.
