The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF), an influential Tea Party activist organization run by a former aide to ex-senator and current Heritage Foundation head Jim DeMint, announced on Friday that it had already spent nearly $1 million in support of Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnells GOP primary opponent, Matt Bevin.
SCF reported that it spent $535,000 on promotional material for Bevins campaign and directly gave Bevin another $450,000 more. McConnell, however, is reported to have somewhere around $10 million in his campaign war chest, money hell need not only to fend off Bevin but to also best his likely Democratic opponent, Alison Lundergan Grimes. The latest polling shows Grimes and McConnell to be essentially tied.
More from Politico:
[SCF] spent more than $2 million donating to or promoting five candidates last year, three of whom are challenging incumbent Republican senators. SCFs second-largest investment went to Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel, who received about $516,000 in favor of his challenge to incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.).
SCF spent about $600,000 combined on the candidacies of three other Republicans: Rob Maness in Louisiana, Ben Sasse in Nebraska and Milton Wolf in Kansas, a distant cousin of President Barack Obama who is taking on incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kansas).

The tea party is everywhere.
What’s to stop these backstabbing anti-conservative traitors from pulling a Murkowski and running as third party candidates? Their otta’ be a law that if they lose in a primary they’re through for that election.
May every dollar strike like ten poison arrows into the hearts of those RINOS’ campaigns.
I’m liking this SCF. Enough of these mealy mouthed harmful politicians that play their constituents for fools.
No way Mozilla,
Haven’t you heard,
The Tea Party and AlQueda are both dead!!!
And I’m real tall dark and handsome, or something.
!
McConnell should be flushed out of office like the kind of offal he is - right down the drain. Gald they are going after him. Hope they target Boehner and Linda Graham too.
The MSM talk of the tea party having died were all premature.
Vote out the RINOs in 2014!!!
nawwwwww that's just a coincidence.
Let's do this!
Kentucky is not a huge TV market state. The population is largely rural, and the foot soldiers that Bevin can raise should outdo McConnell’s war chest if he can get to critical mass. I have seen big money in small states backfire, as it did in CT for Linda McMahon in CT in the general.
KY has a sore-loser law that would exclude McC, but most politicians in KY have endorsed McC, haven’t they, and KY people usually do as they are told.
No matter what, Cornball, “R”-TX, is safe.
It’s not technically rural, but small town. KY people make low wages as a whole and do as they are told.
Someone needs to do the research to find what it is that attracts KY people to McC; ditto for AZ and the other McC.
ann coulter was on the NOT Hannity show today and she was begging for Conservatives to fall into line and stop all these “foolish primary challenges” and get behind mitch and company... and she even said, “mitch mcconnell... the best minority leader the republican party has had in my lifetime”. Oh yeah... she went there. These times really make the progressive republicans give themselves up. ann has finally come out of the closet... she is a party hack rino (I already knew years ago).
"Offal". I love that wonderful English word. Its very sound gives it double meaning.
One well-suited to the topic, of course.
Ann Coulter is a very well spoken, intelligent, well-educated, anorexic-ally attractive AIR-HEAD.
Thank you.
Sometimes Anglo-Saxonisms are refreshingly direct.
