Conservative talk-radio host Mark Levin is defending himself against charges that he engaged in a quid-pro-quo transaction with the Senate Conservatives Fund, promoting the right-wing group after it spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on his book.
Since Sept. 10, SCF has spent $427,000 on copies of Levin's "Liberty and Tyranny," according to Federal Election Committee filings. Those books were given to donors who provided $25 or more to the group.
In that time, Levin has frequently promoted the SCF on his show and on his Facebook page. "Senate Conservatives Fund is dedicated to electing true conservatives to the Senate!" Levin wrote in one post. Levin did not disclose the SCF's purchases to his listeners.
On Thursday, in response to a POLITICO report noting the SCF's purchases, National Republican Senatorial Committee Communications Director Brad Dayspring cast suspicion on the relationship between Levin and the SCF. Establishment leaders have frequently criticized the pro-tea party group of targeting Senate Republicans.
"Fishy: Senate Conservatives Fund spent hundreds of thousands of donor dollars to make Mark Levin's book a bestseller," Dayspring wrote on Twitter.

Mark needs to remind these Cowards they live in glass houses.
Like Mitch McConell’s 3 Billion dollar horse trading with Obama/Reid to pass the budget deal back in November.
Or Johnny Boner asking the President to grant Obamacare waivers to Congesscritters and their staffs while the Stick it to us!
Or how these cretins become multi-millionaires after being in office less than 10 years making 150k a year. Yeah baby let’s peel back the layers and lay it out just how big of crooks they really are.
Hard to imagine why an organization would purchase books of an author whose philosophy is so closely aligned to their own! One of life’s great mysteries, I suppose.
I’m sorry, I’m missing the issue here
a business man has a book for sale and a radio show. a group buys many copies of the book to be given out on the show in exchange for free advertisement
what’s the problem? I realize liberals have zero business sense, but this is perfectly fine
...I am SO sick of the NRSC. They can pound sand, once and for all.
I donated. I was happily surprised to receive the book. I listen to Mark. It’s all good.
At least it’s a real book. I remember a certain Demoncrat House Speaker who distributed books with blank pages in return for moolah.
Frivolous charges from the... duh, duh, duh... stooopid party.
Vote out the RINOs in 2014 — DO IT!!!
Which rat speaker are you talking about?
Jim Wright. A real sleazoid.
Remember the National Republican Senatoral Committee. Make sure none of your money goes there.
But not to an idiot like Brad Dayspring.
The NRSC has no problem with Fox News giving the Liberal RINOs an hourly free ad whenever Karl Rove appears...or any of the other Fox News Liberal RINOs...
Levin needs to tear up the NRSC
The Senate Republican poo-bahs are attacking Mark Levin's integrity as a dagger thrust at the TEA Party. That's why they're trying to make an issue out of this non-issue.
Also remember that it was the NRSC that actually undermined the duly nominated REPUBLICAN senate candidate in Alaska, Joe Miller, to bail out Murkowski.
Joe Miller: Why is the NRSC meddling in the Alaska primary?
THE NRSC'S SILLY SCHEME IN ALASKA....
Cornyn, NRSC, Establishment GOP Betraying Miller Campaign
Never forget!
it has nothing to do with integrity
the problem would be if a congressman had someone buying their books... as it would be a bribe for some bill to be passed.
as Mark is not an elected official entrusted to faithfully execute the laws or making some new laws... it does not matter. he’s a businessman with products for sale.
there is no impropriety here... at all. it just shows how stupid these congressional types are.
