Washington one of top states in health care enrollment

SEATTLE (AP) - Washington state signed up more people for health insurance than all but a handful of states during the first few months of enrollment under the health care overhaul.

According to a new federal report released Monday, only California, Michigan, North Carolina, New York and Texas have signed up more people up for health insurance since Oct. 1. All of those states have larger populations than Washington.

Rush doesn’t seem to know it either, but there has been articles in the WSJ about the devices. That is the real reason for the push against the e-cigs. I think that they vaporize a tch paste. Actually, you can put anything in there that you want and vaporize it.

They have also come up with a type that supposedly eliminates the high and can be used medicinally. It seems to be particularly effective for children with severe epilepsy. Somehow, the marijuana works to prevent the seizures. So, it is obvious from that marijuana does have some affect on the brain.

Anyone who makes less than $63,000 (family income) is automatically put on Medicaid. There is no choice and that pun was unintended. The only other option would be a private plan at a higher cost.

The difference will be the doctors and the hospitals. Where we live, that isn’t too bad because we don’t have a choice of hospitals anyway. The conflict is going to come in when you need an out of area specialist, or a specialist, period. For instance we are seeing more and more general practitioners doing obstetrics.

I thought I knew, but apparently the requirements were changed during the Great Recession.

Previously, in Washington state, only children, pregnant women, people on SSI Disability, and people waiting for a Disability decision were eligible.

Before the Great Recession, no able bodied adult in Washington state could get on Medicaid, regardless of how low their income was.

I believe Washington resident “steve86” is the guy who told me all that changed in 2010.

How exactly it changed, I can't recall.

Anyway, today, any able bodied person in the state can get on Medicaid if they meet the income requirement, which is like below $15,000 for a single person, and more complex for families.

10-4. I was living in Bremerton and having to commute Puget Sound to Sodom on the Sound each day for work. My wife worked at BofA and after she finally retired, GONE we were. 14 years there was enough for me. I know that Eastern Washington is a million miles more conservative to Commie Seattle-Tacoma-Everett, etc.

I was not aware that people already in Medicaid had to sign up again, so I don't know what to say about that.

It's just the annual recertification like any year; doesn't have to be online. Can be at local DSHS office or mailed in on a paper form. However, all but SSI, aged, blind, disabled and long-term care clients will be moved over to Washington Health Care Authority from DSHS (this should already have occurred). At the same time their income qualification will be changed to MAGI (Modified AGI), like the Expanded Medicaid people.

That is for the whole country. That is what I was talking about when I said that they made the regular Medicaid patients, enroll on lin under Obamacare and then had them assigned to Medicaid. It is all part of the scam.
