Too old to be given cancer treatment: NHS is 'writing off' patients who are over 75
Daily Mail ^ | 1/23/14 | Jenny Hope

Pensioners with cancer are being written off as too old to treat, campaigners said yesterday.

They cited figures showing survival rates for British patients aged 75 and over are among the worst in Europe.

Young lung cancer sufferers are only 10 per cent more likely to die within five years than their continental counterparts.

But pensioners with the disease have 44 per cent less chance of survival.

The figure for stomach cancer – at 45 per cent – is even worse.

In American English it's “maybe Grandma should only get a pain pill”.

Wow, you’re harsh! And I mean that as a compliment.

More ‘rats need to hear the TRUTH.

‘Rats believe that the cohort to be disposed of is old peeps and really sick peeps, and conservatives of any state of health. And the cohort that will benefit under their scheme is (to oversimplify) the Pajama Boy and Wendy Davis class.

Only one problem with that philosophy. A host can live (and better) after the removal of parasites (Dumbascraps), but how's the parasite going to exist if they kill the host?

this is why you don’t want govt in charge of your healthcare decisions and options.

Actually I don't think this is a bad idea..

I'm going to be 75 myself in a few years and it doesn't seem cost effective for Medicare, Obammacare, the VA or any other government program to spend tax dollars to keep me alive a few extra months should I get cancer or any of the other things that are going to kill me..

Seems to me folks that want this should buy private insurance ..

I don’t use the F word and choose my words carefully but I mean to offend or wake them up. I look upon Obama supporter/stooges as the enemy of our prosperity, freedom and security, which are all intertwined. I hope to offend them.

Progressives who condone abortion certainly aren't going to be concerned with letting people die needlessly.

Geeeeeee .. our gracious govt lets people live to 76; and if you get cancer then .. no treatment.

And .. these are supposed to be the “compassionate” ones; the “tolerant” ones.

I’m at PUKE already ..!!!

What you’re describing is exactly what Obama meant when he spoke about reducing the cost of prolonging grandma’s life with surgical procedures: “Maybe you’re better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller.”

The latest pc-think among academic physicians has successfully transformed many of them into non-thinking tools of the left.

Let’s assist the leftists in understanding that if their agenda had any value whatsoever they wouldn’t have to disguise or sugar coat it.

it seems there was a taboo on morphine treatments for pain in past years and maybe it was because of abuse

do you know what i am talking about it seems there was a huge debate about (20) + - years ago about pain management and the refusal of health providers to apply necessary medications for such

and anyone who says morphine doesn’t help ha ha ha

neither does the methadone

makers vs takers. that’s the basic split you’re discussing when it’s conservatives and liberals.
