Mary Matalin: Hillary Won't Even Run
NewsMax ^ | February 8, 2014 | Sandy Fitzgerald

The wide variety of potential candidates for the Republican presidential nomination boils down to one question in many quarters — which one can beat Hillary Clinton?

But to at least one powerful Republican consultant, Mary Matalin, the "Hillary" question is pointless.

"Hillary Clinton’s lead is ephemeral," Matalin told Politico Magazine. "As soon as she gets in, if she gets in, she will be challenged and it will evaporate. Just the nature of the beast. I predict she doesn’t run."

---snip---

Political consultant and media strategist Mark McKinnon predicts a "Clash of the Titans" battle between Clinton and Bush for the White House in 2016.

"Jeb Bush is the sort of pragmatic, common-sense and compassionate conservative Republicans need to win back the White House," said McKinnon. "He’d attract Hispanics and likely win the key electoral prize of his home state, Florida. And he has a great record to run on, including some innovative, forward-thinking strategies like early childhood investment. Florida leads the country in the number of four-year olds in literacy programs—over 70 percent, and Jeb did it without increasing taxes."

McKinnon said he is not worried about either Bush or Clinton being too familiar for voters to choose....

Some people are just so ugly I can’t take them serious because I can’t hear them. They’re talking and talking all I’m thinking is “Damn, you’re ugly.” Plus, she married Carville. How smart could she possible be.

Yeah right, Mark. It’s that kind of advice that gave us the current mess in the White House, and BTW, the worst GOP Speaker in my memory!

I felt like someone slugged me in the gut when I read that just now.... I almost threw up and now I need a good stiff drink.

A health-related issue would be the only reason I can see Clinton not running.

If she still wants to be President, and I cannot fathom a supremely political creature like HRC wanting anything less than the Oval Office, then she’ll run. It’s her last chance to get the nomination, and quite frankly, probably her best chance. There’s not likely to be another candidate in 2016 that will hit all the liberal buttons like Obama did.

Now, I’m hoping she *doesn’t* run, simply because she’s probably the toughest candidate to beat. Biden is a joke, Warren is a more liberal, less likeable Hillary type, and so on.

Christie was a factor as to why Romney l’ost. Why should conservatives forgive him?

Romney was the factor as to why Romney lost, and I seriously believe he’s going to be the GOP candidate again, because they never learn and they don’t care anyway.

But I think Matalin is right. Hillary looks like death warmed over, that is, not just unsightly, but sick. She has done nothing to distinguish herself during her time as an Obama minion, and I actually do think “What difference does it make?” Will come back to haunt her.

I think the Dems will pick one of their younger harpies such as Fauxcahontas, Sandra Fluke or Wendy Davis. Obama has proved that lack of experience and credentials , not to mention a totally fictitious background, is no barrier to being president.

Christie was in Texas this week, fundraising.

No one would go near him.

Perry was out of town, and Greg Abbott was 300 miles away.
Busy.

Cruz ran against their boy Dewhurst and surprised everyone by winning the Sen Primary.

She looks like she's auditioning for "Weekend at Bernie's 2016".

Still, I'll believe she's completely out of it when they bury her at the crossroads with a wooden stake through her heart.

I can’t think of one positive accomplishment of hers while she was SOS.

There, fixed it.

Wow... two political dinosaurs of the last generation hyped up by a political paleontologist campaign consultant himself.

We have just got to stop even giving self-serving hypotheses like this any credence.

The fact is the dubious performance by these two’s kin in the last millennium prepared the way for the tyranny of Obama. That alone is reason enough to discount them with cause, from either side of this great political chasm we now have.

Haven’t read comments here yet.

I agree with Maitlin and completely disagree with the other person who is pushing the liberal RINO Jeb Bush. Bush is another politician who thinks the government should control and direct education of our children, and is a big proponent of amnesty for foreign nationals living in America ILLEGALLY!

Hillary is a psycho as the guy in the oval office now. She will run unless she is not on the planet.

“How about a joint merger? A Jeb-Hillary ticket for 2016?”

Yeah, end the charade and have an one uniparty ticket.
