In their 2012 appearances before parole officials, both men admitted their roles in killing officers Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones, 33. The officers were shot multiple times after they'd responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a Harlem housing complex on May 21, 1971. Prosecutors said it was a trap set by Bell and Bottom.
"I began to see things in a way that I wanted to come clean," Bell said in 2012, according to a transcript. "I wanted to accept that fact that I committed this offense, I wanted to show remorse, but I didn't really know how to express that to the Board."
When pressed on why he'd maintained his innocence for so long, Bottom said, according to his transcript, "Who wants to acknowledge, who really wants to deal with the issues of killing another human being?"

You’re wrong. See post 20.
I am correct. “murder” is not the same as “kill”.
You haven’t consulted the KJV. You apparently use a different version of the Bible but I wouldn’t rush to correct what others are using and have used for 70+ years.
Exodus 20:13
King James Version (KJV)
13 Thou shalt not kill.
The KJV. I think I see the problem.
“”The KJV. I think I see the problem.””
You have an objection to the KJV and of course, the version you use is the CORRECT ONE?? How many years have you been using it?
The correct Hebrew translation is “murder”, not “kill”. See above. Old Jefe Jim didn’t have a lot of Hebrew speakers in his employ.
Keep in mind that the same CHAPTER where God says "Thou shalt not kill/murder", a little bit further on He says But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth; But thou shalt utterly destroy them;
So the Israelites were ordered to not kill fellow Israelites, but putting to the sword men, women, and children was OK as long as they were the enemy.
Thank you. King Jim didnt have any problem with killing, as long as he was the one doing it.
The Hebrew word that is translated as murder is ratsach. It means to murder. The old King James Version Bible used the old English and therefore it read as You shall not kill. The word kill in the old King James English meant to murder and the word to slay meant to kill.
Language changes.
Now that they’ve admitted it, some limo lib jackasses will pay for genetic book-cooking to get them fully exonerated. Thanks Libloather.
They were enemies of God and He knew their hearts, something that we can’t see.
Meanwhile, there's the list of crimes punishable by death in Leviticus, which would require regular humans to make a judgement about the hearts of the accused and whether they were to be judged guilty.
Hardly.
Deuteronomy 19:15
One witness is not enough to convict anyone accused of any crime or offense they may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
[”I wanted to accept that fact that I committed this offense, I wanted to show remorse, but I didn’t really know how to express that to the Board.”]
Demand to be executed. If that doesn’t work hang yourself with a bed sheet.
