The choir sang hallelujah as the congregation of 15,000 clapped and sang along. Reverend James Meeks ratcheted up the intensity of his speech. Man looks at the outside, he shouted rearing his head back. But God looks at your heart! Are you with me here?
Judging by the response, Meeks had the faithful at Salem Baptist Church hanging on his every word. One hundred percent with Reverend Meeks, said parishioner Eugene Harris outside the mega-church on Chicagos fiercely Democratic South Side.
He speaks of the gun violence that plagues Chicagos West and South Sides, the poverty and the appearance that there is no end in sight. Our schools are still broken and getting worse. Were last in employment or business. Our neighborhoods are deplorable, says Meeks. And we still get the same promises from the Democratic party, but we dont get any deliverable. I think its time we should look at another candidate.

My eyes are open as well as my mind and my heart. God made us all and all have sinned in his sight, but he doesnot reserve his forgiveness to anyone who seeks it.
If Pubs could get 15% of black votes state wide, they might even upset Quinn and other locked in Dem lib pols. What a miracle that would be.
Charter schools and mentoring programs could save the children that are stuck in the public school systems.
Hope more will see the light.
It’s OK, Rauner is a liberal Combiner and designated winner for November over Quinn. No different from 1972 when Je$$e Jack$on and the Black political establishment of the South Side told the folks to vote for leftist RINO Chuck Percy for Senator.
Post #25. Rauner is Rahm’s puppet. This is a Illinois Combiner love-fest, ain’t nothing “Conservative” or “Republican” about it.
Vouchers and opportunities is a winning card for the urban black vote. Is the GOP listening?
Not in Illinois they aren’t.
YOU have NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TAKING ABOUT.
YOU Are a LOW information Voter.
Leave Illinois Politics to us, who live here, you have NO idea what you are talking about. You have NO idea the backround on these guys, that’s obvious.
Oppose BRUCE RAUNER!
With the Combiner runoff between Quinn & Rauner (with the latter being the clear “decided” anointed winner), I’m guessing the only vote for anti-Combiner Conservatives is Mike Oberline, the Constitution Party candidate.

No kidding. The marxist Dems running this state aren't even trying to hide their support for Rauner. Mike Madigan has even been talking him up (see http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2014/03/madigan-and-rauner-.html ).
Now we have Jesse Jackson's second-in-command at Rainbow-PUSH openly endorsing Rauner. Meeks is an ultra-liberal black activist but was running against another black DemocRAT in a 3-way race for the State Senate, so he wooed conservative voters for years by noting that he differs from Jesse Sr. by being "pro-life" and "pro-family". Of course Meeks would NEVER be caught dead endorsing a pro-life and pro-family Republican over a pro-death Democrat. Now the GOP nominates an abortion-loving, pro-gay RINO and the "pro-life" Meeks happily endorses him. Gotta love the irony of his "principles".
A Rauner governorship will be a return to the George Ryan era where the RAT mayor of Chicago gets carte blanche "bipartisan" support from the "Republican" Governor in Springfield to enact whatever he wants. For freepers not familiar with Illinois politics, think of Rauner as the Illinois version of Michael Bloomberg.
We went through this whole dog and pony show in 2010 when a bunch of Mark Kirk apologists here laughed off the idea of a bipartisan combine and claimed electing Kirk would "embarrass Obama" and "stop Dick Durbin". Well, Kirk proved that wasn't true the moment he was sworn in. He has gotten chummy with the most leftist Democrats in Washington and is now Durbin's BFF. Every single one of the "conservative" campaign promises he made to get elected ("Kirk will not support any type of amnesty until the border is secured first", etc.) have been broken.
Michael Oberline is currently the only conservative alternate to the two liberal combiners running for Governor, and that's IF Oberline gets on the ballot. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to kick him off with a technicality, like they did in 2006 when Randy Stufflebeam ran against unofficial Democrat Topinka and official Democrat Blagojevich.
Fieldmarshaldj, I agree about Mike Oberline. I think that Gov. Quinn will get 53% of the vote. Since the race won’t be close, I hope Oberline will get about 8% of the vote, to ensure that Illinois will have a conservative party.
Oh, no, I do expect Quinn to lose (I’ll add I don’t believe he won in 2010, that was pure fraud). Rauner is now the Combine’s “designated winner” in the same way Mark Kirk was over Alexi G. The only way Quinn wins again is precisely if a large contingent of anti-Combiners votes for Oberline, but he’ll probably only end up with a desultory % of the vote. Too many folks in IL actually will go along with the myth that this is a clean election with two clear-cut choices.
I saw Reverend Meeks speaking on one of the Fox shows, although
he is VERY willing to change parties for governor he CLEARLY STATED
he believes Obammies policies are just fine and would SURELY vote for
him AGAIN if of course he could run again!!! So they are STILL clearly
half BLIND!!!!
Quinn is toast. It’s laughable to think he’d get anywhere near 53%, Phil, laughable, he had to massively cheat to beat Brady by less than 1 point, a RINO with combine approval will beat him easily. Start calling Rinoauer the Governor-Elect.
The Constitution party guy, Oberline, will be lucky to get 1% (as Billyboy says if he’s even on the ballot at all), he’ll likely come in last behind the Green and the Libertarian. I’m not a big fan of the Constitution Party. The last thing we need is their candidates getting 8% statewide on consistent basis, getting reform conservatives nominated on the GOP line is the ONLY path to victory with plurality elections. The Constitution party runs candidates against conservative Republicans too, they don’t target RINOs.
Oberline will have to bother to come up with a website to explain his policies if he expects my vote, if “facebook” is as serious as he takes his campaign then I wouldn’t even bother casting a protest vote for him.
I’m thinking of just taking a duke and casting that instead of a ballot.
