Is THIS Nessie? Apple maps satellite image spots 'creature swimming' below surface of Loch Ness

The photographs were captured by two different amateur Nessie hunters scanning different satellites on their iPhone and iPads.

Good thought, but that whale shark would have to be a hundred (hundreds?) of feet long. Compare it to the size of the trees!

Stop saying that. If he sees this thread he’ll be upset. Catfish are notoriously sensitive about their weight.

I totally agree. It looks like some sort of boat’s wake, with the boat having been digitally cancelled. Maybe Apple was using some sort of technology to reconcile multiple frames of the same location? Nessie was supposed to be a serpent, not a giant catfish.

Oh I know, lol. Actually if the pic is legit, I’m guessing it’s probably a sand bar, but if you look intently at the close up pic, it is the same general shape of a whale shark and even appears to have a similar mottled pattern of dots.

The pic is legit; it’s been shown to be the wake of a boat.

I don’t know what it is but I’m willing to bet on higher revenue for the local tourist facilities and restaurants.

It's not likely to be an aquatic animal. The wake is too large - and that means that the animal would have to be poorly attuned to swimming in water. Short of moving at full speed, there should be no traces on the surface. Those surface waves represent waste energy, and aquatic life long ago learned to minimize those losses. Only human crafts generate wake, and that is only because we value speed more than efficiency. Animals usually have no appointments to hurry to; their top speed is reserved for hunting - or for escaping someone else's hunt.

I’m glad that some of the classic Dr. Who gets integrated into the new one.

I’m glad at least one other person did. I’ve bought a few classics on DVD and they have been great cheesy fun.
