What if the tea party decides to walk away from the GOP in 2016? It could happen.

Republicans who can be relied on to “say” what I want to hear,

They don't even bother with that, anymore.

Romney lost because the base didn’t “fall in line”.

Romney lost because he wasn't Reagan or Palin.

I am no longer a registered Republican. I am an (I). I will vote for whomever represents my views. If that is no one then no one will have my vote.

A Cruz/Palin REPUBLICIAN ticket would save our country.

You'd still have the Boehners and the McConnells and the Cantors and the Ryans and all the other members of the GOP wing of the Democrat party sabotaging them at every turn.

They’ll run establishment candidates, then blame the voters. The two parties are in a race to the bottom. I choose to not join them.

Romney wasn’t even Bob Dole.

"A Cruz/Palin or Palin/Cruz third-party ticket would cause a political earthquake."

Yes, a political earthquake just like the one Ross Perot gave us in 1992 and 1996 resulting in eight years of a Bill Clinton Presidency, but the 2016 earthquake you describe will probably give us another eight years of a Hillary Clinton Presidency.

As the GOP continues to shoot themselves in the foot.

The choice between GOP and DEM is only one of velocity. Both get to the same destination.

and what some people don’t realize is passing amnesty means by 2020 CO, NM, NV, FL are permanent Dem by 2024 TX and AZ are gone for good....then nothing matters 1 party just like Mexico ...2020 and 2024 is being optimistic, if the Dems in TX ever get the mexican vote organized and they turn out ....it’s doomed a lot sooner than that .....the numbers would just overwhelm

I am registered NPA...no party affiliation. I voted Constitution Party in 2012 because hey uphold what the Republican Party used to stand for.
Frankly right now i dont much give a tinkers darn for any GOP canidates so I am seriously thinking of not even bothering to vote. I have voted in all elections since 1968 and look at the mess we are in.
We are dealig with a spiritual issue...until that gets straightened out...heaven help us

If only the move was made back in 2010, the new party would be in better shape.

You can’t keep putting off...it might take several elections before it pays off, but you can’t keep delaying the inevitable.

For some reason, many of us have always scoffed at a third party. The result is that the Republicans and Democrats have no competition and they have both prostituted themselves to their core supporters and lobbyists. The people no longer matter. The Democrats and Republicans are taking our votes for granted. Blacks and illegal immigrants will vote Democrat no matter what while the military and ranchers with poor public speaking skills will vote Republican no matter what.

We are all being taken for granted.

Time for a third party but the focus should be on building from the ground up. The mistake in the past has been trying to accomplish this at the top of the ticket. We might need to tolerate another 2-3 poor presidents but in the meantime, we need to start populating Congress (and state offices) with conservatives who are not tied to the Republican party. Over time, the Republican Party will become irrelevant and the remnants of it will be folded into the new conservative party - whatever we want to name it. By the way, I think Tea Party is a stupid name. Back to the drawing board on that one.

Ross Perot was not in the race to win. He was winning, which is why he withdrew. He was in it to split the GOP vote and hand the election to Clinton, both times.

We can only surmise what he got in return, but he is many times wealthier now than he was then.

No, there are two parties. The Communist Party (Democrats), and the Socialist Party (Republicans).

More like the "Socialist Unity Party", like they had in the former East Germany.
