Sarah Palin really wooed her audience at the National Rifle Association’s “Stand and Fight Rally,” held at the Lucas Oil Stadium last Saturday night.
The former Governor of Alaska claimed that Americans’ constitutional rights as formulated by the founding fathers are under attack, She added that policies such as gun-free zones are “stupid on steroids.”
Palin, 50, said that the framers of the constitution knew that if the Second Amendment went, then the rest of the constitution would not be far behind.
In her short speech, Palin ridiculed the argument that gun stores are responsible for crime, which she compared to “blaming the messenger.” She said if “Gun stores are an accomplice to crime, then that fork made me fat.”
Sarah Palin, was chosen to be the 2008 Republican Party’s vice presidential nominee by John McCain’s advisors. Despite not winning the election, she still enjoys broad support among elements of the party’s base. The proof of that was plain for all to see (and hear!) as her reception would have made any rock star envious.
After returning to Alaska in 2008, she quit her job, alleging “frivolous” ethics probes and the legal costs which would be involved in fighting the allegations. She wrote a successful book, called “Going Rogue,” which sold over two million copies, and joined Fox News as a political commentator in 2010.
Palin has now launched a new show called “Amazing America,” on the Sportsman Channel.
In addition to Palin, other 2016 GOP presidential hopefuls spoke, or appeared in videotaped messages that were shown at the conference.
Palin made no effort to hide her contempt for former New York City Mayor Michael I. Bloomberg’s gun control proposals. She also made fun of Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.’s recent testimony on Capitol Hill.
As for Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s suggestion to fire off shotgun blasts into the air to scare off would-be intruders, Palin’s scorn was palpable: “Just aim up in the air – that was his directive, his advice,” she said. “Well, fine, Joe Squirt Gun, if your rapist is a bird.”
However, Palin saved her most controversial remarks to the end, when she referred to political correctness in handling the country’s adversaries “instead of putting the fear of God in our enemies.”
She said that if “I were in charge” — a line that drew applause from the crowd — “they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.”
There is no question that the so called “civilized” measures used to control terrorism don’t work, since the enemy has a different set of values.
Whatever may, or may not be Sarah Palin’s faults, political correctness certainly isn’t one of them.
Just waiting for the liberals to hyperventilate and have their meltdowns over Sarah’s latest comments.
For someone they demonize, and marginalize as a half term governor and all that, they sure do pay lots of attention to everything she says and does.
I would have their fingernails pulled out with pliers.
Whether or not they know anything.
Look at comment boards on Yahoo or Reuters or NY Times. We are not alone.
Things are reaching a tipping point.
Sarah learned a lot about the Repub liberal stooges. The McCain experience and all the grief she took from the status-quo Repub establishment was a great teacher and example to conservative, patriotic Americans.
Another do-nothing Repub will lose it for us in 2016. Only conservatives, and their copy-cats, win under the Repub banner.
Well, if that’s her stand, she had better run for president. That’ll make the liberal’s scrum.
I wish I were there, WOW what a speech and LOL what she said about Biden, so true..like all liberals they have NO clue about guns..and as far as water boarding terrorists, Im all for that plus chopping off their fingers one by one til they spill the beans

It seems impossible that Sarah writes - in the past, and present - every word of her speeches, but I’ve felt she probably does.
BUT - - - if not, who is it???
Sarah Palin for Waterboarding,then the really dumb liberals will call her a racist and prefer a less painful ordeal,like Chinese Water Torture!
I'm personally all out of patience with the concept of tolerating the Left side of the Bell curve. Waterboarding would be a start.
She is brilliant. She has had to be, to survive the constant attacks from the “progressives” in both parties.
What was amazing to me, was how the McCain team was quite willing to lose, as long as it was able (they thought) to discredit Sarah.
She learned a lot while the muzzled her with “loyalty to the campaign” while repeatedly betraying her.
More of a man than any occupant of the White House since Reagan.

I’d order them racked, rat-caged, groin stuff, whatever it took to get results. Of course, that’s assuming that taking prisoners turned out to be necessary or even possible — because the best defense is a good offense.

Palin doesn't make these speeches for free, you know. I don't know what she got from the NRA, but she's a much sought-after speaker and much sought-after speakers generally get paid quite well. BTW, I do think she's entitled to whatever she can get.
She’s 10 times the man, most Republicans are with the exception of a minor few such as Ted Cruz. I love those 2. Don’t you just love the phrase used by this author - “alleged frivolous lawsuits?” That made my blood boil!
