We are helping to care for my son’s retired Bomb-sniffing K9, a Belgian Malinois, who is receiving chemotherapy for a deadly brain tumor.
His first K9, a German shepard, was just put to sleep a week ago due to an incurable cancer disease.
This killing hits home, and it sounds like it was totally wrong.
Keep up the investigation of what happened, and if appropriate, let real justice be done.
No cover ups!

What is it with cops and their need to shoot dogs?

I've noticed an increase in the amount of transients with dogs around here lately. I think that the dogs are part of a sympathy ploy to guilt people into giving money.
BTW, hippies are not too popular in the South.

If the police leadership do not get a handle on these power hungry sadists, the public’s respect for the law is going to evaporate and they will not be able to control what happens afterwards. It will be ugly.

But the important thing is that the cop went home safe!

I work for an energy utility, and every other year the state police would bring in a trooper and dog to demonstrate recognizing aggressive behavior in dogs we may encounter in the field, and some actions to take.
Maybe PD’s should get this type of demonstration and training.

Once again, a scumbag, psychopathic cop shoots a dog for no reason. Its beginning to seem the cops are as much problem as solution.

When the police decided to arrest the man, they created a potential bill for their department - the dog would have to have been kenneled and at police expense.
Kennel costs might cut into money for departmental slush funds.
Also, the LEO’s got their Dog Killer badges.
Most importantly, a LEO with Storm-trooper delusions got to kill something. These jackbooted wannabe Ubermenschen must be dealt with soon and through the courts before America comes to a boil.
A handful of uniformed clowns in uniform will have no more luck “subduing” Americans than did the Red Coats of another tyrant.
One can only hope the Governor of Louisiana decides to force this issue by cleaning out a department as an example. Once the public loses faith in their LEO’s and sees them as dangerous and tyrannical, then America will spiral downward into a place we need not go.
