Posted on 04/30/2014 11:16:25 PM PDT by Nachum
Speaker of the House John Boehner on Wednesday night condemned the Obama administration for going to extraordinary lengths to mislead, obstruct, and obscure what actually took place during the Benghazi terrorist attack of 2012 now that it is clear the White House has not turned over all pertinent documents.
The Ohio Republican made the comments after the release of new emails this week by a conservative group, which obtained them through a Freedom of Information Act request. The emails indicate that the White House played a bigger role than previously admitted in crafting the now-debunked initial talking points on the attacks that left four Americans dead, including Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya.
I am appalled to learn that the administration concealed relevant documents after the House subpoenaed all emails related to the misleading talking points, Boehner said in a release to reporters.
The documents released Tuesday shows Ben Rhodes, a top foreign policy aide in the White House, saying the goal of then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rices now-infamous Sunday talk show appearances was to to underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, not a broader failure of policy.
He has become a caricature of himself.
Is he shocked enough to do anything about this? Impeachment proceedings?
He needs to watch ‘House of Cards’ and take notes.
I’m really surprised this email was released to Judicial Watch and not the shredder. Did someone screw up the cover up?
Close your mouth, Bro. Not your best look there, regardless of your natural inclinations.
On Wednesday, Boehner reiterated his support for House probes to continue.
I too am appalled!!!!!! There is no one who is more appalled than me!!!
I am the most appalled man on planet earth!
I am sure that whoever released it is in hiding for his/her life. This is the one, true, smoking gun that should have never seen daylight.
I am not even sure the MSM can spin this. Although I am sure they will try.
In mathematical terms,
Boehner is to Obama
Obama is to Putin.
Yea, and he wants us to trust Obama to protect our borders!
Democrats will do anything to win.
Something should be done to ensure honest elections.
Well then maybe he should stop assisting in the hiding of Barry’s bloody hands.
Bonehead is just another broken down predictable character in Washington’s ongoing KABUKI theater presentation.
Simple explanation as to why; HE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING DOWN IN BENGHAZI.
Worthless pos was/is part of the ‘gang of 8’ who had knowledge of the covert operation being run by the government to air the rebels.
It’s a crying shame we have a media bought and paid for by God knows why. We are sheep being led to the slaughter.
Sickening to realize how these pols lie with such ease.
Boehner can fry for all I care. And toss McCain into the pile along with our _resident. Out of 300 million + people in this nation, THESE freaks are the best we can come up with??
LOL. My thoughts immediately. “They are gambling at the casino?”
Boehner refuses to go for an independent prosecutor.
I believe it is because All congressional leaders knew the administration was funneling weapons out of Bengazi illegally to Syrian rebels.
And many of those rebels were NOt good guys.
“Something should be done to ensure honest elections.”
I totally agree, and I’m sure we are all open to suggestions.
However, there is a time when it is too late for using the soap box to fix the ballot box - but that still something we should strive to accomplish.
Opening the other box to water the tree gets messy.
Impeach his golfing buddy? Not on your life.
The oompah-loompah just got out of the tanning bed. Not one dime’s worth of difference.
Right, and that is why this kabuki theater has gone on and why it will continue to go on. Oturd will say he had the consent of Bonehead et al in this endeavor. Whether the “it” was weapons to Syria or some other attempt to destabilize some country being orchestrated and armed through Lybia makes no difference. His piece meal investigative approach to Benghasi and other events like the IRS matter are designed to go nowhere. In the former he protects jug ears, in the latter he destroys the conservative republicans. This incompetent fool deserves to be on the same gallows as jug ears.
I wish I had a dollar for every time that thought crossed my mind.
Boehner is a co-conspirator with Obama.
This what you get when you have taken G-d (prayer) out of the schools for 40 years. No one has any moral base anymore.
Now, doing something about it, even when he has the power...that is ooh so hard. Oh, yes, and it would require leadership.
Who woke him up and told him?
"Hi, I'm Congressman *HIC!*" Bottle....from Kentucky..
Tennessee?..fine Whiz.." *face-plant*
Boehner is a P.O.S who is behind Benghazi with
McCain, Obama, and Clinton.
The G(ive)O(bama)P(ower) Party takes Americans
and conservatives for FOOLS.
Boehner is appalled? Oh boy, now we’ll get to the botton of this mess.
Never mind. Forget I asked.
Just go have a good cry, John. It'll make you feel better.
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here! So, it's not just a fake "shocked," in the movie, as here in real life, the "shocked" person was participating, not just playing dumb.
[a croupier hands Renault a pile of money]
Croupier: Your winnings, sir.
Captain Renault: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much.
I’m appalled that Boehner is ONLY appalled.
Boehner is appalled? What about the rest of us who are waiting for him to do something to get to the truth and jail odumbo and Hitlary?
Go get your shine box, Johnnie.
I've been wondering the same thing. Could things be starting to unravel inside the White House political machine? Or, is the a calculated move to destroy Hillary?
He’s a-pauled? I’m a-simoned! And that’s 10 times worse!
...THESE freaks are the best we can come up with??
Sadly, we need to change the old saying “the cream rises to the top” to “the crud rises to the top.”
In an interview with radio host Laura Ingraham in January 2013, Boehner was asked about reported weapons transfers raised by Sen. Rand Paul during questioning of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Benghazi. The speaker responded: Im somewhat familiar with the chatter about this and the fact that these arms were moving towards Turkey, but most of what I know about this came from a classified source, and really cant elaborate on it.
Fox News asked the speakers office to clarify his comments to Ingraham, in light of the Benghazi relatives letter, specifically whether Boehner was briefed on the covert operations in Libya, and if those briefings covered weapons transfers.
Boehners spokesman emphasized that no one has been more dedicated to laying out the facts about Benghazi, adding: The Speaker does not ever discuss classified information in public. In this case, he simply said he was aware of the rumors that were circulating publicly.
During her January testimony on Benghazi, Paul pressed Clinton on the weapons issue, referring to reports that weapons from Libya were moving to the Syrian opposition via Turkey. Is the U. S. involved with any procuring of weapons, transfer of weapons, buying, selling, anyhow transferring weapons to Turkey out of Libya?
To Turkey? Clinton asked. I will have to take that question for the record. Nobody has ever raised that with me.
Its been in news reports that ships have been leaving from Libya and that may have weapons, Paul continued.
And what Id like to know is the annex that was close by, were they involved with procuring, buying, selling, obtaining weapons, and were any of these weapons being transferred to other countries, any countries, Turkey included?
Clinton replied: Well, senator, youll have to direct that question to the agency [CIA] that ran the annex. I will see what information is available.
Youre saying you dont know? asked Paul.
I do not know, Clinton said. I dont have any information on that.
The Saudi ambassador, Mr. Jubeir, has long been courting members of Congress who could pressure the administration to get more involved in Syria. He found early support from Republican Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
Mr. Petraeus in mid-2012 won White House approval to provide intelligence and limited training to Syrian rebels at the base, including in the use of arms provided by others. Saudi and Jordanian agents began vetting the fighters to be trained, said Arab diplomats and a former U.S. military official.
Prince Bandar has largely stayed out of Washington but held meetings with U.S. officials in the region. One was in September 2012. Sens. McCain and Graham, who were in Istanbul, met him in an opulent hotel suite on the banks of the Bosporus.
Mr. McCain said he made the case to Prince Bandar that the rebels werent getting the kinds of weapons they needed, and the prince, in turn, described the kingdoms plans. The senator said that in succeeding months he saw a dramatic increase in Saudi involvement, hands-on, by Bandar.
That winter, the Saudis also started trying to convince Western governments that Mr. Assad had crossed what President Barack Obama a year ago called a red line: the use of chemical weapons. Arab diplomats say Saudi agents flew an injured Syrian to Britain, where tests showed sarin gas exposure. Prince Bandars spy service, which concluded in February that Mr. Assad was using chemical weapons, relayed evidence to the U.S., which reached a similar conclusion four months later. The Assad regime denies using such weapons.
After Mr. Petraeuss November resignation over an affair, his job was handled by his deputy, Michael Morell, who privately voiced skepticism the agency could make sure any arms supplied by the U.S. wouldnt end up with hard-line Islamists, said congressional officials.
Ultimately, the new CIA chief was John Brennan, whose closest Saudi confidant when he was White House counterterrorism adviser was also focused on the risk of inadvertently strengthening al Qaeda. Since moving to the CIA, Mr. Brennan has been in periodic contact by phone with Prince Bandar, officials said.
“You’re *hic*....you’re *hic*...despthicable” Says the ineffective House Speaker. Great! Now put down that Johnny Walker and start impeachment proceedings.....
