On Tuesday evening, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) reportedly met with 10 GOP House members in his office to strategize how to combat the push for amnesty in the coming months.
Roll Call reported that Cruz and House Republicans, including Reps. Mo Brooks (R-AL) and Jim Jordan (R-OH), met for roughly 90 minutes. Conservatives are ready to gear up to oppose amnesty efforts after the Republican leadership has signaled they will make pushing amnesty a top priority.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has said he is "hellbent" on passing amnesty legislation this year, while Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), the GOP Conference Chair, said she hopes amnesty legislation could get to the floor by August. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said he thought sweeping amnesty legislation could pass by "June or July." Last year, Sen. John McCain (R-OH) said amnesty advocates would make a final push for amnesty after Republicans were clear of the primaries, and the high-tech lobby is reportedly gearing up to make a push in the spring to influence the amnesty debate.
After the House GOP leadership released its "immigration principles," Sens. Cruz and Jeff Sessions (R-AL) ended any momentum for legislation by saying the principles amounted to "amnesty." Amnesty advocates were upset that Cruz's opposition to the GOP principles effectively put the breaks on amnesty legislation.

Well, they can’t hate Cruz any more than they already do, so he has nothing to lose.
Fight the good fight Cruz. You’ve got lots of opposition lining up against you. Hope you can add more House members to your coalition so you can stop this amnesty push. I can’’t believe the GOPe are trying this right before mid-terms. What idiots.
I can only say, that anything that allows them to register and stay in place, cannot be seen as anything other than amnesty.
As soon as they register, they are legal residents.
That is amnesty.
All the talk about making them go to the back of the line, all a pack of lies.
Others will be waiting out side the U. S. to get permission to come here. These folks will already be here, have their green cards, be working, and be legal.
That isn’t amnesty? That isn’t jumping in front of others?
You know, the English language means almost nothing anymore, when you can bend phrases and deny the true meaning of what is being said.
Trying to pass amnesty AFTER the GOP primaries is downright sneaky and dishonest.
Cruz should reach out to existing LEGAL immigrant both ones who have gone through the grulling legal process of becomming citizens and ones who are currently in the process. Both of which will be pissed off if amnesty passes.
I would love to hear the “Liberal Sob Story” being turned on it’s head and used against the amnesty shamnesty crap.
Naughty Ted! No Chamber of Commerce donations for you! < / sarcasm >
I wonder if Ted got assurance from the Senate RINOs that they wouldn’t work for his defeat, even as they badgered him into pledging not to work against them in primaries. They won’t just try to primary him, they will try to run 3rd parties and donate to his Dem opponent.
If it didn't mean spreading Cruz too thin like butter, I'd have him as Speaker of the House. Would be neat to push boner aside with a US Senator.
RINO’s all have to die (politically) or be relegated to an obscure, irrelevant minority. That is the only way we will salvage any level of sanity again in this country.
Boehner has his orders from the Uniparty. The GOP faction of the Uniparty isn't allowed to be "successful" in any "elections" as long as Obama and the RATs are having so much momentum going toward the complete takeover.
but, he is for increasing H1-B quotas as the tech giants
are clamoring for.
Let’s call it the T.E.A. Party Caucus, RINOs not allowed!
Cruz is a man amongst children in DC.

Hellbent, eh John-boy? Well why don’t you get bent! Now here’s a tissue. Go cry in a corner.
Of course, if he is elected President in 2016, he won’t have to run for Senate again. I am praying for that.
