See-Saw race in GOP Senate primary in Mississippi
American Thinker ^ | 5/31/2014 | Rick Moran

The GOP Senate primary in Mississippi that features 6 term incumbent Thad Cochran vs. Tea Party favorite, state senator Mike McDaniel has flipped once again with Cochran regaining the lead.

A poll earlier this month gave McDaniel the edge by 4 points. But a new poll out this week shows Cochran with a narrow 5 point lead.

Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) has a 5-point lead over his Republican primary challenger, state Sen. Chris McDaniel, according to a new GOP poll.

The survey, from GOP pollster Harper Polling, gave Cochran 45 percent support among likely GOP primary voters to McDaniel’s 40 percent, with 15 percent undecided.

That’s in contrast to a survey conducted by a group backing McDaniel earlier this month, which showed him leading Cochran by 4 points.

Harper Polling, which is run by a former top National Republican Congressional Committee strategist, is considered more establishment-minded, and every poll it has conducted of the race has shown Cochran up.

Only till Tuesday. Not long. McDaniel needs to put full power to engines if he wants to sink the ESS Cochran.

Hopefully this recent Cochran gaffe* will be enough to turn the tide for McDaniel ahead of Tuesday. Cochran is senile, a big government socialist, or both ...

WOW! Republican Sen. Thad Cochran: “I’m Glad to Be Involved” in Obamacare Effort

“A short time later, a Cochran adviser called to say there was disagreement aboard Cochran’s bus about whether the health question had been about Obamacare or the problems at the Veterans Administration,” Balz wrote. “He said Cochran was among those on the bus who thought the question was about the VA.”

* telling the actual truth when your campaign didn't want you to do so.

Interesting to learn that Cochran’s campaign is courting the RAT vote. That should sum it up for everybody.

So the polls are just Mitchy and Bonehead push polls !

Thad is senile old man being used by his Senate aides who are all Dem party plants.?
this clown has no idea what he votes on....
His aides run the show while he parties with Bonehead and Chuckie and Diane Feinstein.

His aides wanted to keep there cushy jobs and another Dem vote in the Senate so they told him to run again!

Exactly right. Pro-Cochran Group Turns to Democrat Voters for Help.

“Henry Barbour, the nephew of former Gov. Haley Barbour and head of pro-Cochran Super PAC Mississippi Conservatives, tweeted in response to conservative criticism that Cochran would turn to Democrats for help: “do you have an issue with black people voting in R primary?”

Mississippi ... vote for McDaniel on Tuesday! The country has had tHad Enough! ... and of the corrupt DC-based Barbour machine too!

Really, McDaniel will be finished politically if he can’t knock off an opponent whose inner weakeness has been exposed to all. Or MS can change its motto to: “Where Incumbency Trumps Truth”.

What I want to know is this: Is McDaniel doing anything in these closing hours to capitalize on Cochran’s two gaffes this weekend? #1. He complimented ObamaCare efforts to provide affordable health care and said he’s proud to be part of it. #2. He’s patronizing the Black community trying to get them to cross over and vote in the GOP Primary because he can keep their govmint benefits coming to their mailbox.

If Chris McDaniel had done either of these two things, it would have been all over the airways 12 hours ago. What is the McDaniel camp doing?

15 percent undecided.
_____________________________________________________________

Does anyone really believe that there are 15% of the voters undecided at this stage of the game? I think a lot of people are afraid to say they’re voting for Chris McDaniel. But, if 15% are still Undecided, that’s good news for the Challenger and NEVER good for the incumbent. Undecided voters always break for the challenger by 80%.

I don’t see how 15 out of every 100 voters are still in the “Undecided” column this late in the game.

I predict that if Thad wins Tuesday and wins in November, he will serve about 6 months and then step down AFTER he has made a deal with the Republican Governor of Mississippi to appoint Haley Barbour to that Senate seat to finish out his Term. Then, you’ll have ol’ “Twangy-tongue Barbour” for another 20 years unless the cholesterol gets him first and he has a massive heart attack from too many hot dogs and milk shakes. I’m telling you, Thad is not running to serve 6 more years. This is all planned out for Haley Barbour to get that Senate seat.

The author, Rick Moran, is a RINO extraordinaire. He’s one of the reasons that I don’t frequent the American Thinker as often as I used to.

McDaniel was in Meridian, Cochran country, this past week. I don’t believe he would have been there if he didn’t feel pretty confident.

Thank YOU for the ping! ;-)
