Economists are scratching their heads trying to figure out a puzzle in this recovery: Why are young people not working? People retiring at age 60 or even 55 in a weak economy is easy to understand. But at 25?
The percentage of adult Americans who are working or looking for work now stands at 62.8%, a 36-year low and down more than 3 percentage points since late 2007, according to the Labor Department's May employment report.
This is fairly well-known. What isn't so well-known is that a major reason for the decline is that fewer and fewer young people are holding jobs. This exit from the workforce by the young is counter to the conventional wisdom or the Obama administration's official line.
The White House claims the workforce is contracting because more baby boomers are retiring. There's some truth to that. About 10,000 boomers retire every day of the workweek, so that's clearly depressing the labor market. Since 2009, 7 million Americans have reached official retirement age. The problem will get worse in the years to come as nearly 80 million boomers hit age 65.
But that trend tells only part of the story.

The figures that the Government uses of 12 million illegal aliens is a lie. It is closer to 30 million or about 10% of the population.

For example, most social engineering articles are about why The Federal Government is not forcing Businesses to “give” more jobs to people.
IOW, the “people” view a job as an entitlement that comes from the Federal Government forcing greedy businesses to “pay their fair share” so that everyone has a “living wage.”
The Reality is that the Federal Government is the primary restrictor of WORK that is allowed to be done in America.
The Federal Politicians in “both” parties speak of “getting the economy going again” while they spend themselves into bankruptcy 60 % into each Fiscal Year.
The Federal politicians in “both” parties speak of creating jobs, while paying the salaries of Regulators to write Regulations that restrict WORK that is allowed to be done in America.
Without an increase in WORK, there will be no increase in JOBS.
Those who oppose WORK thus oppose JOBS.

The border will never be sealed. You are quite correct. As I see it the One Worlders think that borders are unnecessary and that we should simply become part of the geographic entity of The Americas.

We should start by focusing on legal immigration. We don't need 1.1 million legal immigrants a year. In 1970 1 in 21 was foreign born in this country; today, it is one in 8, the highest in 90 years; and within a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history. We have just had, by far, the two highest decades of legal immigration in our history. We had 9.7 million foreign born in 1970 and today it is approaching 45 million (40 million in 2010).
I would agree the official government estimate of 8 million illegal aliens is low, but I would challenge your estimate of 20 million illegal aliens in the workforce, which would make it 150% of the number of legal immigrants in the workforce. It just doesn't add up. On what basis or from what source are you estimating 20 million illegal aliens in the workforce? I have worked on the immigration issue for over 7 years, lobbied on the Hill on the issue, and studied the issue intensely over time. I have never read or heard of 20 million illegal aliens in the work force from any reputable source.

A high estimate by any measure. The most I have seen comes from a Bear-Sternes report some years back.
My point is that we are taking in 1.1 million legal immigrants a year along with 650,000 guest workers annually. The Senate Gang of 8 bill will triple legal immigration to 33 million over the next decade and double the influx of guest workers to 1.3 million annually. We have 4 million high school graduates annually, which means we will be importing one immigrant for every high school graduate. With 21 million Americans unemployed or underemployed, this makes no sense at all.
Unless we reduce substantially legal immigration, anything we do on illegal immigration will not affect significantly the current surplus of labor. And there are electoral consequences. At least two-thirds of the legal permanent immigrants we import annually will vote Democrat in the future. 87% of the legal immigrants are minorities as defined by the USG. By 2019 half of the children 18 and under will be minorities and by 2043 we will be a majority-minority nation. We are losing this nation thru the ballot box as we enter the era of tribal politics. Legal immigration will make the Dems the permanent majority party. Amnesty just hastens the process.

This kind of reminds me of my younger years when I argued with many friends about how stupid it was to elect Carter. Much like today they bought off on the MSM smearing of Nixon (Bush) and it's aftermath.
There must be a comprehensive enforcement effort to stop illegal aliens from staying and working here. We can reduce legal immigration. We can eliminate birthright citizenship.
If you believe that we lack the political will to do these things, then the country is finished--at least the way we know it.
I think that those in power now completely lack the will to do anything about stemming the tide of illegal entry and once-legal overstays.
I also believe the RINOs hoping for power won’t do a damned thing about it in deference to big business’ misguided notion they can maintain higher profits with illegal (to be legal) labor.
Don’t get me wrong. Most of this country is against this, but the power structure today ignores them on a daily basis, supposedly for their own good.
