The moon is how far? We strung cable across how many oceans? We built cities with how many several hundred foot skyscrapers? We built how many interstates of concrete and asphalt and steel bridges border to border?

We have been over this. The last time is no different than this. America can build a double/triple wall fence border to border. Over it. Under it and with irrigation and animal access. All that stops it is willpower.

People like you, in the middle of a foreign invasion, are STILL taking excuses. Your position defaults to the Democrat position. No fence. You SAY we cannot. Do you WANT a fence. A real one? Yes or no?

I overlooked nothing. I condemned his remarks about Hillary Clinton.

Perry is quoted as opposing a border fence. QUOTED. A strategic fence is not a border fence. A smart fence is not a border fence. Calling a dogs tail a leg does not make it one.

Calling it one is indeed a like when you know full well there is a vast difference and you mote assuredly do. Don’t get pissed and indignant with me because you want to play a word game. A border fence fences off the border. Perry opposes the border being fenced off.

Period.

Excuses? I am a member of the Texas State Militia. My bags are packed and ready to go to the border. I will put my life on the line to defend against that foreign invasion.

Yes, I believe we can build some kind of barrier. I'd prefer one with landmines, but then I am a bit extreme sometimes. It doesn't matter what I believe though. You've called me a liar and attacked my honor. So be it.

If you support a mined border then why exactly are you supporting the fraud that opposes a mere fence? Why are you making excuses for building a real fence? Why can’t you answer a simple question? Why do you keep switching subjects.

Get as indignant as you like. Not my problem. your ‘honor’ is on display. Excuses for Perry. Where is there ‘honor’ in helping liberals and other pro amnesty types oppose protecting this country from invasion?

I’ve answered all of your questions directly and fully. I have not changed the subject. I have not made any excuses.

Bye, Norm. Have a good evening.

Those who say a fence cannot be built are ignoring the truth. It can and has been done in the roughest of terrain in East San Diego County. Instead of accepting that fact they continue to argue the point because they are defending Perry's opposition to it.

It can be done, it has been done and it is highly effective.

No you didn’t answer anything fully. Toy simply rejected proof posted to the thread and ignored what didn;t back your position.

You made claims of strawmen then supported my position that fences work and can be built. you ignored the fact that one interstate alone takes more labor and material than ant fence and does not tale 300 years to build.

you did not answer why if you support a militarized border with landmines, you reject a simple fence. You did not address squat.

Anyone can and should reread our exchange and see it for themselves.

Yup. Thats all they are doing. Facts suck when they clash with agendas and a refusal to admit the truth.

But having a tantrum about ones honor has worked before on FR so lots of people go to that well. They know that being offended works for liberals so they do it too.

But when they encounter people like us that have the facts and refuse to play word games...they run away ‘offended’ and try making us the villan.

Personally I could GAFreep what anyone thinks of me. I’m not here to impress anyone or be BFFs. And I have no problem with honesty and admitting I am wrong. But we aren’t wrong. And that makes us evil I guess.

It's not personal, not for me, anyway. I know the truth about border fences and I know that they work. Every time I address a point of the opposition they find another. We have heard that Perry didn't oppose a fence so I provided a direct quote wherein he said he does. We have also been told that fences do not work. But we know that isn't true either as the fence in SD County has worked quite well. We've also been told a fence cannot be built. And we know that isn't true as evidenced by the many images I provided.

Bottom line: border fences work. Those like Perry who remain opposed do so because they do not want them. We can surmise why, and in Perry's case his pro-ILLEGAL alien past is all we need to know.

I used to go to Baja all the time covering the Off-Road races. I know they work. I heard all sorts of bitching from the locals about them.

I live in AZ. On a main route for illegals. We don’t have your fence down south. We have a much higher crossing number than you do. Because you have a fence and we do not.

Simple math. Only deniable by either a liar or someone that refuses to accept the documented numbers. One can deny deny deny all they like. all it does id wreck their cred with people that can read.

I think it is personal. It has to be because we personally are either responsible for supporting or opposing an invasion. If people oppose a proven solution for political reason/personality, that speaks volumes about their personal love of their country and their personal ‘ethics’.

I live at the end of a 2.5 mile dirt road in rural East San Diego County less than 10 miles from the Mexican border as the crow flies. Before the fence was built in SD it was not uncommon to see hordes of ILLEGAL aliens traipsing through my property on a daily basis. They would leave my hose running after filling their water jugs. They stole fruit from my trees. They broke into both my garage and my shed, not necessarily to steal but for shelter. They tried hotwiring my vehicles; they failed but they did accost an elderly neighbor and stole her truck. All this ended when the fences were erected. These nightmares for residents still exist, but they have been moved further east to beyond the fencing.

Last election cycle the Perry faithful avoided addressing the issues they could not defend and drug me and others into personal pissing contests. I will not allow that to happen again. I intend to stick to the issues and demand they do the same. When they won’t we’ll know that it is because they can’t.

Perry’s pro-ILLEGAL alien past is as indefensible as his recent praising of Hillary as a “great Secretary of State”. Not only do the Perry faithful not address that they continue to support him in spite of it. And that, as far as this debate goes, is our opposition.

It’s really tiring (which is of course the point of why they do it) to have to sit year after year and watch yet another right wing website used to spread leftist propaganda.

The same arguments that have been disproven year after year are trotted out by the same people (and yes, new ones also) to disrupt and tie us up/keep us from working ‘for’ something.

The left does not want us on anything but defense. Thus the same rehash. They know that if they keep us rehashing, we cannot move ahead. But we cannot simply allow them to spread the lies. And they know THAT as well.

I understand people wanting to see their governor become president, but I cannot understand why those calling themselves conservative would want a pro-ILLEGAL alien liberal like Perry as president. And I guess I never will.

Hero worship.

People so badly want someone, anyone, to believe in that they pick the first guy that makes a noise they like.

I understand it to a degree. I want to believe in someone too. But I’ll be damned if I am going to ignore the rest of their issues.

Take Palin. I’m a Palinista. Fought many of the PDS wars. But when she came out for McCain a while back, I slammed her. I’ve done it a few times now. I refuse to drink Kool Aid. she is human and not perfect. When she was iffy on the path to citizenship thing, I opposed her actual position at the time rather than bandwaggoned the memes being pushed.

And if she ever said “YAY Amnesty” I would fight her every bit as much as I do Perry or the Romnoids.

I want to ‘believe’ in people too. But not in a fantasy. I don’t know when conservatism became another branch of situational ethics for a lot of people but it was not the way to go.

Simple math. Only deniable by either a liar or someone that refuses to accept the documented numbers.

Simple math indeed.

In fact, the Border Patrol’s own statistics show that the border walls have not brought about a decrease in illegal entries. The border patrol uses the number of border crossers apprehended in a given sector to gauge the overall number of attempted crossings. Apprehensions dropped dramatically between 2005, the year before the Secure Fence Act was passed, and 2007, the year after.

But the decrease did not occur in areas where border walls had been built. On the contrary, the greatest reductions in apprehensions, which according to the Border Patrol would indicate a successful strategy for stopping undocumented immigration, were seen in sectors that did not have walls.

Texas’ Rio Grande Valley sector saw a 45.3% decrease in apprehensions, bringing them to a 15 year low. The Del Rio, Texas, sector saw a 66.5% decrease. Neither sector had an inch of border wall before 2008. In sectors such as Tucson, which saw walls built shortly after passage of the Secure Fence Act, the reduction in apprehensions began before any wall posts were erected.

The areas that saw an increase in crossings were California’s San Diego and El Centro sectors, both of which have had border walls for over a decade. At the same time that the unwalled border witnessed dramatic decreases in crossings, heavily fortified San Diego saw a 20.1% increase.”

How odd. south already posting the actual numbers showing a MASSIVE decrease in illegal crossings.

And provided personal testimony on the ground from the actual site of the fence.
