I wouldn’t buy into an HOA if you gavee the money. I have a freedom streak that drones would not abide and I sure the hell wouldn’t abide wannabe fascists telling me what I can or can not do on my property.

Good for you. . .

I won’t have a neighbor ruin my property values by putting old rusting junk cars in their front yard, have chickens running around, have many illegal aliens move in and trash the yard and home.

Yes, had that happen and the HOA took action and cleaned it up and while they have a right to live the way they want, if they choose to live in an HOA settlement, play by the rules. . .unless they are democrats and its all about me-me-me and not the community.

Free the Pink Flamingos.

I've thought of adding these to my front yard as a silent response to a particularly annoying neighbor.

HOA’s are evil and should probably be banned or at least greatly restricted

Nobody should ever be forced to join an HOA. The HOA doesn’t own the house. A new owner should have a choice on whether to join.

HOAs are evil, but people who want to belong to one should be free to engage in whatever contract the HOA proffers. Or not.

If I buy a house and do not want to join an HOA, I should be free to do so. I should not be forced to join one just because the last homeowner did.

Some developments come with an HOA. They are not separable. That’s the developers choice, not yours. You have the choice of not purchasing from the developer.

I do.

Sorry you are offended by my choice.

20 homes, great neighbors, good friends, all protecting our property values, quality of life and looking out for each other.

This conversation is over because we both expressed our opinion.

However, I fully expect you to reply because your nature simply can’t tolerate someone having a different opinion than yours. Of course, you can man-up and let it go. Your choice, be a man or not.

Have a nice day.

#20 pointed out that state law says this man was not breaking the law... so the HOA is breaking it

He still has to go through all the court proceedings.

If you enjoy court proceedings, by all means buy property subject to an HOA.
