Israeli Ambassador: ‘The Road to Peace Goes over Hamas’ (VIDEO)

Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer told Meet the Press host David Gregory Sunday morning that Israel’s best response to Hamas was a military solution that degraded or eliminated its weapon capabilities.

“The road to peace goes over Hamas, it doesn’t include Hamas,” Dermer said.

He also criticized Palestinian Authority Chair Mahmoud Abbas for partnering with Hamas two months ago, saying this alliance was equivalent to the Iraqi government embracing ISIS.

“We were very much opposed to it, and very upset when the international community basically said hey, this was a great thing for peace,” Dermer said. “It’s a terrible thing for peace.”
