Not only did G_d give us vegetables to eat, he also gave us meat. Argue with G_d’s dietary freedoms and gifts and you might suffer.

It causes decreased IQ. This effect is not reversible.

(Study published in Env. Health Perspectives several years ago, I do not have the reference.)

Also, women who follow low-protein vegan or vegetarian diets during pregnancy risk affecting brain development of their children.

We’re omnivores, not herbivores.

So science says the young may not be able to survive the unnatural diet of vegans.

Poultry, fish, veggies and fruit. And we try to keep some kosher.

It’s worked well for a long time now.

Colossians 2:16 - Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath [days].

The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. 2 Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.

3 He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. 4 Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. 5 Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.”

“Very well,” they answered, “do as you say.”

6 So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. “Quick,” he said, “get three seahs of the finest flour and knead it and bake some bread.”

7 Then he ran to the herd and selected a choice, tender calf and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it. 8 He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree. Genesis 18:1-8.

If lamb was good enough for a theophany by God (actually Christ before his incarnation) then it is good enough for me. Amen.

Be subversive. We fix pot roast, stew, and chicken curry all of which prove too tempting for our daughter and her family. It works but we’re cooking too much for them (much to my SIL’s delight).

I know several vegans. They insist they are healthier than omnivores, however they are constantly taking various medications “to stay healthy.” Uh, I thought the vegan diet was supposed to do that.

It’s also way too low in choline, which is essential for brain function.

I need a steak.

Veganism is Darwinism in action.

Although some conservatives are vegans, most vegans are probably libs. So if a major health org. says that veganism is harmful to a person's health, isn't that science? And aren't libs, as they claim, the party of science? C'mon all you liberals....don't be anti-science. Give up your unhealthy and unscientific eating habits.

Listen to your body. If you crave something eat it.
I don't care for vegetables hardly ever eat them. I tried once to give up meat. It lasted just a few days. Cheeseburger in paradise kicked in and I came to my senses and realize I love meat, fish & chicken.
I eat some vegetables however I prefer the cow (or Bull) eat them first. . . . .

Threads like this prove the hypocrisy of so many on FR. We are all against government and bureaucrats and politician/elected officials getting involved in diet and personal nutrition habits EXCEPT when a government agrees with the pre-conceived prejudices of those commenting.

Hey, where are the comments calling on the Swiss government to stay out of the lives of the people? -crickets-

Guess what. Everyone here who failed to point out that "Swiss Officials" should shut the hell up, have no right to complain about Moochelle and her school lunch buttinskyism ever again.

The simple fact is this.

Humans, at least modern day humans, have a digestive system that is most closely related to...

dogs.

A heavily acidic stomach, a relatively short intestine (so that waste products don’t build up), you name it, we are omnivore/carnivore but mostly carnivore.

If you tried to get yur needed nutrition just from vegetables, you would be like a horse or a cow or a sheep, eating from sunup till sundown.

I knew a girl who was a marathon runner. She ate very well, she ate only white meats (chicken, pork, fishing, etc). She switch to vegetarian, without even fish. Her run times went drastically down. Then she switched to veganism, and she can barely finish ten miles, and she complains of pain in many different joints of her body. She stopped this nonsense and went back to her originally diet. She is running better, but not at the level she was, but it has been less than a year.
